Help Super battery drain issue

Saturday last week I was at San Bernadino, CA at a rave with roughly 50,000 people in attendance. Because of the mass number of people, my phone had a ton of trouble connecting to 3G and as a result the battery drained SUPER FAST (from 80% to 15% in 20 minutes). I think because of the large number of people at this event and with all the cell phones connecting to the same tower, it probably overloaded the tower. I was amazed how fast it drained because of it trying to constantly connect to a tower.

I wished I knew this or I would have turned off data to save battery life. Has anyone seen a similar issue (aside from the TWS issue) when attending an event with large number of people?

That could be part of the problem. Because the towers were busy, your phone was constantly searching for a signal. The other problem may be, if you've updated to 2.2.1, there are now known issues with battery life.
