Root super clean .4 in rom manager...

Actually, whats the difference between those two and then also StupidFast v1.76. I know the 2 stupidfast ones are the same speeds.
Voodoo. stupidfast = no Voodoo. The diffs between the stupidfast ones are in the descriptions.

Further explanation here.

Well, it wasn't aimed at you, but I'll explain... ;)
Fascinate zips use the Samsung utility redbend_ua -- which directly flashes into a Galaxy S nand partition -- to update the kernel, which is "zImage" in partition sml7. Other Galaxy S devs also use redbend to flash modems directly from a zip (partition sml12, I think), without having to hit Odin. I'm just wondering why this isn't also happening on the Fascinate. (Besides the "we can't make it too easy" ethos. :D

Lol, I knew it wasn't aimed at me, but since I'm sitting on the forum hitting refresh repetitively, I wanted to continue learning all I could! lol

Reboot Button goes right into red (Voodoo-friendly) CWM.

Yea, This is the apk I have on my memory card now. I haven't re-installed it yet cause I don't have voodoo on it yet, But after all the talk of the new voodoo, I might have to just add it to the list of plans lol.

Roger that. I was actually just looking into that thread too.If you don't mind me asking, how's Jt's 12/03 working for you? Battery life? Since you'r DJ05 I'm guessing your gps and signal status are fixed. Are you running a theme with it?

All good, though the battery life hasn't changed since the first Voodoo UV kernel from around Thanksgiving... Noticeably better than stock since then. GPS is good -- and I was getting zero satellites after 5 minutes beforehand (now 1 minute to lock, but always 8+ sats). I live under a cell tower, so can't tell about signal status.

I had a bizarre lockup loop a few days ago, but I'm guessing something went wonky after flashing six different kernels without clearing anything... Wanted an excuse for a complete reflash anyway. (Now I've squashed everything I want -- ROM, kernel, addbacks, Mesmerize Contacts, Google Voice-voicemail Dialer, etc. -- into one update package.)

No theme, just my Circle Battery adaptation. Nitsuj's Purple theme looks pretty cool, though...

Themes with reboot options are the easiest way to boot directly in of course ;)

I wasnt tryin to say it in any bad way after re-reading it i can see it how it came across though my bad :D

Lol, I was about to pull out my stalking skills haha. but yea, I know what you mean with requests of the people who create something. Don't mess with em or feel the wrath

I was running the blackmod theme on my last one, and I loved it. I'm big on the dark themes, as little color as possible. I think your circle battery was also in it, thanks for that. but now that i'm planning on donig dj05 i want to see what else is out there. I'm looking at the theme thread too, patiently waiting for my boss to leave.

Do you get a full day out of the battery?? And if i didn't use voodoo would there be a significant difference between the length of the battery life?

voodoo kernels have comparable battery life compared to rfs ones yes...you ll get better battery life out of undervolt kernels when you find them (and if your phone can run them, not all can)

many of us get a full days use of our phones, depending on what you use or run app/widget wise

i think every single dj05 theme has reboot options built in....check out the thread http://androidforums.com/fascinate-all-things-root/214596-list-fascinate-themes-roms.html

What's the difference between the different versions of JT's clean roms? Like .5 and .7?

Also the difference between his 12/03, 12/06, and 12/09??

The roms up to 0.5 had built in kernel .....and the higher the number the more bloat jt stripped out.

As foe the kernels each one just had updated code nothing revolutionary...you can check jts github for his changes and supercurio s for voodoo code change

just log in, ask to be directed to the files you need....they will most likely tell you to look at the topic, which is to go to another room which contains them...or someone may be nice and link you directly to them :)

Yea, I got on there and just started asking questions and Chopperthedog took me under his wing for about an hour and some change and taught me some good stuff. I'm gona lay off the voodoo until i really know what's going on with it, but i'm now DJ05 basebad and build... ready to do some good kernals and roms!

yeah chopper is a good guy...glad you got squared away :)

its nothing to "get" its just a governor setting on that particular kernel...some kernels allow for more settings, ie conservative, performance, interactive

AHHHH, talking about SetCPU basically? Because I always had to keep it on conservative before, I never knew the other options to it haha

Now, when switching between the kernels(like stupidfast 1.54 to stupid fast 1.76 for instance I don't need to do anything special besides the backup right? Just put the file on the memory card, make sure i did a backup and then cwr the new file?

More or less. Interactive wasnt available on kernels a month ago, jt delivered it with 11/11 or 11/13 I think [cant remember accurately]. Also while you can backup anytime you want to IMO its not necessary to back up prior to a mere kernel flash. You can of course just know you dont have to

How can you tell the new kernel is flashed onto the phone? I flashed stupidfast 1.54 but it did it so fast. is that correct? any way of seeing it on the phone?
