(I have checked the other threads about this, but they are older and not the same version I have. Things seem to change very quickly 'round here.)
Does Superoneclick (1.6.5) work with the Optimus V?
Clicking on Root (not Shell Root)?
I get conflicting answers when I read various threads from various posters. (There is a down-side to reading.
)
For the record, I am not currently interested in over-clocking, ROM-flashing or anything fancy--what I really want to do is use Link2SD because the phone is full. (I reserve the right to, at some future point, develop an interest in these things, but first things first.)
Also, for the record, I have downloaded what I assume are the latest LG drivers, Android SDK, ADB and Superoneclick 1.6.5 (which appears to have ADB in it, as well as Busybox, Superuser, etc, which many of the instruction threads say to download separately.)
Some instructions have many steps; some have only one (ie, click Root). Some say click Root; some say don't click Root, click Shell Root instead.
My head is spinning trying to separate all this out. Would anyone be so kind as to advise me?
Many thanks in advance (and more thanks if you can help me.)
