What the hell do I have?

Model number: DK1031
Android version: 2.2 V2.6#4416
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 root@hibernate-desktop #60
Build number: FRF85B

It came in a Superpad 3 box with 9V charger, GPS antenna and headphones.

I haven't noticed anyone else with that model number.

The camera doesn't work and I'm having trouble updating the firmware to Tim 5a - nothing happens after putting 2 files on SD card and booting up.

Always, always check with your supplier about firmware updates before flashing.

There are some pointers that should be followed before flashing:

1. Does flashing invalidate warranty?
2. Does a stock FW exist in case a flash goes wrong?
3, Which FW or custom FW actually works on your machine. Specifically, does a tim custom rom work?
4. Where would you get support from in case your FW flash does go wrong?

Anybody reading this should ask these questions to your intended supplier before purchasing a flytouch 3 these days.

Not all FT3 are equal, anybody anywhere can put a tab together and call it FT3, then advertise it on ebay or amazon or anywhere else, in your case you will have to ask your supplier the above questions, and/or wait to see if others have purchased the same model as you and posts here about it, the chances are slim imo.

Even FW flashes are created different.

As to whether you would wish to retain such a FT3 is up to you :)

If I could flash I would - I just don't know how for this device. The normal method doesn't seem to work for me.

Well i have been playing with everything after flashing Tim's 6a rom and to be honest i can't find a single fault. Although at first i had a bit of hassle getting it to auto media scan as video player wouldn't list anything but it's all sorted now. Gps, Contacts, Maps, hdmi tv out, everything is just running flawlessly. Ah just one thing Dolphin browser has gone but ill get that from somewhere no doubt. The market is now spot on also :)

THANKS Tim for the great work and you may just find something in your donation stocking. Keep up the Fantastic work.

Sorry to hear about your probs though RATiO, if i come across anything relating to your dilemma ill let you know. Just hope you get it sorted also. No one deserves to be ripped off!

To play TVCatchup just put http: //m.tvcatchup.com/ in your browser. I have it working perfectly in HQ using Tims 6a rom and it may just work with other versions. Delete the space between http: and // Good Luck

It will flash. But how is the question. That is why you need to contact your reseller and ask what lfc was saying. Tell them you camera issues and find out if firmware is available and the flash procedure. It could just be a renamed model of P041. If you get a link post it here with the instruction on how to flash, it can help the guys doing dev learn more about the pad.

I looked up the specs for you pad and it seems to be in the upper end of the FLT3 with a bigger battery than most. And if it is a 9v then it should last about as long as a Ibex battery

They all seem to be coming from A1CS in the UK.

Thanks to all for advice. I will contact seller and ask about firmware updating. I'll post here if I discover anything useful.

@ Rabid1, you're right, my device was advertised as a1cs x220 on amazon UK.

Actually the reseller seems to go out if their way to help, great customer support reviews. So you should be OK. /crosses fingers :D

Please let me know if I can install the Tim6a Rom on my tablet.

Thanks in advance !
Francois.

Hi fbonnet, I have just put 6a into 2x tablets with exact same specs as you and i have had no probs at all. I really have to say these are both running spot on now. I also ran the Gscript app inside 6a and enabled the 2mp camera option, just read the Tips section at Tims rom site for info on this.

By the way if you do this u do this at ya own risk don't be sending me a bill LOL

Good luck if ya decide to give it a go. ;)

Just 2 questions before the "Big Jump" :)
I've made a mistake in my last post I've got a 16Gb internal memory Superpad III is't still ok ?
And is it possible to do a "Factory Data Reset" if something went wrong during the Tim6a installation ?

Thanks for your help!
Francois

Mine are 16gb also although that wont make a difference, i don't think anyway as that is only storage space where apps etc. are written too.

Once you do a flash you will not be able to do a factory reset back to the original firmware as that will be over written.
The only way you can revert back to your original is to obtain a copy of your firmware and reflash it.

I have just done 2 with the same spec as you and they are working flawlessly although i must say Skype has gone and although the Dolphing icon is there it isn't associated with anything, but i can live with this.

The other plus side is once you have done this you also end up fully rooted.

If you decide to go ahead then Good Luck and ill keep my fingers crossed for you. But don't forget mate it's your decision.

P.s another brilliant pluss is the fact you can enable Ad-hoc wifi in Gscript, this enables you to tether the tablet to a mobile phone that's capable of running as a wifi hotspot. I have mine tethered via wifi to my rooted HTC hero with a app running on it called Wireless Tether.

Caution: While you are running Gscript only click on the the item in the list that you want to alter as with it being touch screen it's easy to accidental click and alter something and once clicked it alters that item. But just click the same item again to alter it back.

Could someone provide me the gscript apk and camera fix script that come with 6a please?

gscript (lite) is from the market.

camera fix is a script writen using gscript within tim6a.

However, these are included in 6a and will only fix 6a issues.

So if you flashed using 6a - they are there by default.

If you could have a look for the script file 'cos I wanna see if it works on mine without 6a.

Has anyone come across a similar problem with the camera and if so please help! When i run the camera it says "Please insert an SD Card before using the camera" even though i have one inserted. I have tried diffrent cards and same message apears also the Gallery won't display any pics. It did work intermitently but has now given up the ghost.
I think you must have a DCIM folder on your SD card.

it's not that simple if the fix requires files as well. Like the wifi fix is a kernel swap so you would need the script files and the corresponding kernel. If the camera fix requires any files you would need those as well.

Hey guys, I need help. A few weeks ago I bought what I thought would be a Flytouch 3, Superpad 2 off Ebay. Silly me. When it arrived it was in a Superpad 3 box, so I immediately knew it was fake. However after using it, Ive decided that it was actually a pretty good deal for what I payed, except for the lack of Youtube, no flash (except in dolphin hd browser?) and a G-senser that only works when held vertically. Ive been reading this post, and I have thought about putting Tims 3a on it, but Im not sure if it would work, because these were the specs:
Model Number: YOSpad
Android Version: V2.2 2011-08-03
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9
root@jackie-desktop#216
Build Number: FRF85B

It seemed that most the people on this thread had disco instead of YOSpad, so I was wondering if it would still work for me?

Hi i live in Spain, and i have Superpad 3 tablet.
The compilation: FRF85B
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 root@localhost #48
Android version: 2.2 V2.6:#4402
Number of model: P041

I have problem to use USB Modem 3G, i have a Huawei modem, and i can see 3g icon on top. but i cant use internet with USB modem.

Is original version firmware, you recomended install TIM5a version ?
TIM5a can use with modem usb 3g?

Please help me.
Thank you.
Best regards.
Hi mattapo2,

I have the identical tablet and the WiFi reliability is poor. Using the ethernet port plugged into the WiFi modem works better for me. YouTube works OK and the G-sensor seems to work OK as well. Bought mine on eBay from every-accessory-com.

Bert

Hi,
Relatively new to the forum, and also to tablet pc`s. I have just bought a Superpad 3 from e-bay(DigitalEtimes) The details are as follows:Model no:DISCO10
Android Version:2.2-20110803
Kernel Version:2.6.32.9 zjd@dtlinuxserver #34
Build no:FRF85B

I have been looking through this topic, but being new to this tablet, I don`t really understand what is going on as yet. I have not come across any problems with the tablet as yet, wi-fi connects okay, browser and opening sites seems quite fast for this tablet, but I have gone right into it as yet, so I may learn from this forum.

Hi,

I am Vicky, From India, Presently working at an university at Saudi Arabia, I am a Apple certified MAC Technician., Just bought Super pad III., Would like to explore more on Android.. Have an i-Pad 2 also...

1. I would like to know whether I can re-install the Android OS on this device as I am not able to see the "Privacy" tab on system settings. Also I cannot change (Set) my region to Saudiarabia or India.

2. After configuring G Mail, Could not remove account as it is not allowing me to remove the account directly and command me to remove from "Privacy" through Settings which is not available.

3. Is there any possibility to increase the RAM??..Feeling slower response.

4. Is there any application for video chat?.. Skype Video is not working.

5. Which PDF reader is suggested?

Hope any one can help me on this. My device info as below.

Model : Disco10

Android Version : 2.2-20110803

Kernel version : 2.6.32.9 zjd@dtlinuxserver#34

Build Number : FRF85B

Iman62,
When you switch on the superpad 3 what if any messages do you get? You cannot connect the superpad 3 directly to a pc, you would have to use a usb flash drive(unless someone on the forum more knowledgible can correct this)

I am newbi here too. Just bought a superpad III a few days ago, mainly to read ebooks and it does a great job for this. However I would like to use the intranet at work. Aparently it has Gingerbread on it, hence why I chose this model. The tablet picks up the work wifi fine BUT I cannot use the internet/intranet due to it having a proxy server. Gingerbread is supposed to have proxy setting, but this version does not. So I am unsure what version I really have??? If it really is gingerbread is there anyway I can upgrade it to 2.3.3 so I can connect to a proxy server?

Model Number : Android Tab10
Android Version: V2.3 2011-09-19 (001112)
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9 root@jackie-desktop#79
Build number: FRF85B

I have tried downloading a proxy app (auto proxy) which looks like what I need, BUT when I try to run the auto proxy app it tells me that the ROOT privelage is not available, the proxy feature may not work.
