there is a post on this forumsection that tells u what games do work. Ofcourse there are many more but those are tested by me and for sure work.

I think a later update from tims rom (3b or 3c) speeds up the flash in websites, also don't use the stockbrowser cause it sucks hard !

Also ,if u have problems with market (specially european users can't access all apps) - download applanet. This is an alternative market that i use untill google opens the market for everyone.

hey, got the "superpad III" today but the manual doesnt match up with the actuall tablet also it is supposed to be a 16gb but it says there is only 3.33gb left :/ and when i try and download anything from android market it just say's memory is full. can anyone help? do i need to have a sd card?

Further testing revealed that with my new upgraded 16gb SuperPad i also got the same error "Not enough room to install" when trying to install an app from the Market using Tim3a.

I then installed TCH's ROM and it works fine. I think TCH has patched his ROM to fix the Market issue with Partitions larger than 4gb. TCH also upgraded his device to 16gb, so any ROMS from him should be compatible with 16gb models.

TCH's latest ROM - http://thechillhacker.com/media/19Apr2011.zip
More info can be found here: New rooted ROM - more to come

interesting...

about that rom - did u let Tim know about that ? so far i didnt run out of room yet,but if i have that problem also i would be forced also to change roms. and i really like tims Rom

Hi

I also have a Superpad III (says so on the box) which I bought via Ebay. Looks every bit like the Flytouch images I have seen and not having any real way to distinguish the difference I figured higher number means newer revision - right ?

My specs, as confirmed by the seller are:
screen: 1024x600
CPU: 1Ghz
Mem: 512Mb DDR2
Storage: 4Gb (2.2Gb free)
Camera: 2Mb
1/0: Looks the same as the FlyTouch with 1 TF slot.
Battery: Lithium-Ion 6 hour
G-sensor: all sides (tested working with normal screens though I haven't tried any games)

Well, I have been having some problems and while I have arranged to return the unit to the seller for a full refund I thought I would ask if there are any solutions that could enable me to make proper use of the tablet:

1) Marketplace

I can only see a small set of free apps in marketplace in comparison to my DesireHD. I tried searching for common apps like YouTube, DolphinHD, Skyfire etc but while other apps are listed these are not.

2) Flash

I bought this unit on the strength of it's flash playback as I browse some sites that use flash video, like formula1.com. The flash playback is terrible, at best black and white but jumpy and slow with poor synch between video and audio.

Anybody know of a way to improve this?

3) Audio

Good grief - I need to have ears like a bat to enjoy audio from this. Is there any way to fix this without a serious hardware hack. I know the DesireHD has volume issues too and wondered if it is something within the Android OS?

Alternatively is there any way to give this unit bluetooth capability so that I can get it working with my Sony Ericsson bluetooth speaker which is really good.

4) Google Calendar

I added my GMail account while trying to access marketplace. Although the email app syncs, nothing is happening with the calendar that came with the pad. As the process was soooo straight forward on my DesireHD I am at a bit of a loss to understand why this is not working - it is Google's OS after all :(

5) Memory cards

What type can it use? I have seen straight Micro SD and also Micro SDHC. Class 4 seems to be reasonably priced but is it suitable?

I am usually savvy when it comes to tech but this is new ground for me and I would appreciate any advice that could get this unit working better.

I am visiting PC World tomorrow to check the the Advent Vega which seems to have everything in working order albeit that my poor boy wallet will shiver at the extra cost :) but I actually prefer the overall concept of the Superpad 3 if these problems could be sorted.

Thanks

I find on some forums solution:
Tips
Market
If you're still missing apps in Market do the following:

- Connect at least once with Market & your account.
- Then go to settings => Applications => Manage Applications => All
- find Google Services Framework from the app list
- click on clear data + OK, then force stop
Reboot.
wait about 1 minute after you're back in.
Start Market again. (if it crashes, wait a bit and try again, it should go through ;) )

Then you should see more apps after that, like google maps, Skype & such.. :)

Yes, just download and unzip tim 3a your your micro SD then boot from it in your tablet. It should start the update process. Once it finishes hold the power button down for about 10 secs to turn off and reboot. Use this one: http://public.timduru.org/Android/Flytouch3/Tim-V3/20110416-Tim3a_nocache.zip

Update Procedure:
Flashing is as usual:
*remember to backup your apps and data using an application like Titanium backup before updating, then restore after the firmware update*
- unzip the firmware file
- copy the 2 files firmware2 and firmware-discovery into the root directory of your SD card.
- put the SD card back into your tablet
- boot the tablet
- wait that it finishes flashing, then turn off by pressing the power button for about 10 seconds, or push the reset button
- remove the SD card & delete the files firmware2 and firmware-discovery from the SD card before booting up
Cheers,
Shane

Thanks a million Shane! I must admit I was very nervous doing this (not being a geek) but it worked perfectly and I love the new look .. thumbs up!

Only one glitch for me so far, I can't reinstall Alkido, it goes through all the motions as if it's installing, then says install unsuccessful. I saw where somebody else said if that happens to remove a particular folder on the SD card, which I did, but still can't reinstall it. Anybody have any other ideas how to get around this?

Since posting earlier, I've tried with a brand new SD card and still get the exact same error, so it's nothing to do with folders on the SD card.

Have you tried installing this version? Aldiko Book Reader Premium v2.0.1 | MyDroid Free Software For Android OS

I've just tested installing Aldiko using the link above and it installs fine. I downloaded the APK and then installed from a USB flash drive (TIM 3a).

Thanks, just tried it, but got the same thing "Installation Error Unknown reason - 18"

Go into "My Pad", unmount the SD card. Take the SD Card out and try re-installing Aldiko. :)

Forgot i didn't have the external SD card in when i installed Aldiko.

I posted this in another thread but maybe should have posted here...
I got my Superpad III about a month ago, did the firmware upgrade to Android 2.2 and it was working great. then 2 days ago the wi-fi started having issues. Now it will recognize my router connect and then drop.. Here's me info: Model # Disco, Android version 2.2-20110316, kernel version 2.6.32.9 and build #frf85b.

It sounds like I may need to run the firmware upgrade again and I didn't know if there was a newer version. outside of that not working it may be a hardware issue and I will send it back. But I hope to avoid having to do that so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all I would like to thank all the posters for their help that I have received already and any future help I might receive .
I have a Superpad III which with the help I have received have managed to root ,
I now want to install Tim3a but I have a couple of questions first

1. Can I use a spare micro sd to install Tim3a or do I have to use the sd card that I am using in the superpad111 now

2. When I backup the apps do I backup the whole lot or just the ones that I have installed.

3. When I have installed Tim3a will I still have the Home screen when it reboots for the first time. ( the loader )

1. Yes you can, just put the 2 Tim3a files on the spare SD card and boot from it.

2. If your using Titanium Backup, i would just backup all Apps and System data. You can do this by running Titanium Backup, click "Backup/Restore", click "settings" button, click "Batch", then click the "Backup all user apps + system data". Same process to restore after you've loaded Tim3a. Just install Titanium Backup after doing the Tim3a upgrade.

3. Tim3a comes with Launcher Pro and the Infotm Launcher. So yes and you can choose which one you want to use. It will prompt you. I like Launcher Pro. :)

P.S. Tim3a is already rooted so you don't need to do the root after doing Tim3a. Also you don't need to root it to install Tim3a. Tho it's good experience. ;)

I would upgrade your firmware to Tim3a and then see if your still having any issues before sending back.

See the post above on the upgrade process.

Does Tim3a come with the Android market or an installer so you can install Titanium Backup to restore your apps
sorry for all the questions I just want to get it eight before I install.

Yeah onboard wifi seems to be shot. I am just going to buy a belkin thumb stick for wireless and see how that works. Kind of bummed but I can deal with it.

If you purchase a thumb wireless stick, it most likely won't work as it won't have the drivers for Android that it needs to initialise run.

1: for the marketplace you might have to update yr firmware to Tims 3a rom.
That rom gives you loads of fixes, its a must have i think.

but my biggest advice is to get Tims 3a rom !
This turns yr device from a mediocre device into a superb device.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the advice.

I flashed my SP3 up to Tims 3a and it worked a treat. Proper YouTube working brilliant!!!.

The unit feels more responsive in use except for the default browser which seems a bit sluggish but I am going to try Opera and DolphinHD.

One thing - I kinda liked the bottom app dock bar that was on the default setup. Can the vertical bar that now sits to the right be moved to the bottom or is there a way to have the bottom dock?

Not an essential as Market is much better and YouTube well worth the update.

Just Flash to sort out and I'll be well chuffed :)

I'm guessing you made Launcher Pro the default. To change or go back to Infotm Launcher. Go to manage applications, then all apps, scroll down to Launcher Pro, then click clear data or uninstall Launcher Pro.

:)

SOLVED !!! using a 4 gb SD

Well as I had stated I did the Z4ROOT and stuff.. and somehow wacked out the launcher. it would boot up to a black screen. the top bars works. but NO icons on the screen and couldn't bring anything up or get it to do much of anything .. Did as Shane said.. put the w Tim3aRom files in the rood of the SD card.. HERE's HOW WITH YOUR HELP I FIXED IT..

downloaded the .ZIP file from here to my laptop. (SWAMPED THE SD CARD FROM MY LAPTOP WITH THE ONE FROM THE ANDROID TABLET) upzipped the two files. then turned on blue tooth on my cellphone and laptop and transfered the two files to the blue tooth folder on the cellphone then MOVED the 2 files to the root of the SD CARD .. swapped it back into the Tablet booted it. and POOF TIM3AROM installed and now the system is up and running. and back downloading angry birds LOL and whatever else I can find .

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP

Hi Compubyte, I've the same problem like you with z4root, but when I try to flash with new ROM, the tablet don't take the rom updating process. You can say me what type off sd card are you (size and class) ?

In my case, I use a 32 gb sd card, with 2 partition, first a 8 gb fat32 partition with 4096 block size and the rest like ext2 partition, and tablet don't start with the new update rom :-(

Somebody could help me ?

Thanks in advanced. Manuel.

Hi Roidz99

Thanks for responding to my questions.

Do you have any advice on the SD cards as I don't want to buy something I can't make use of?

The crazy thing is, if the problems were sorted, aside from the screen which is alright but not crisp I could see this being a real iPad alternative.

I'm not deluding myself that the tech is comparable but with the keyboard attached and a free MS Office compatible suite this cheap little tablet can actually be put to good productive use.

While I won't knock the quality of Apple's offering, I struggle to understand why so many are willing to chain themselves down for a bit of convenience and bling.

Hi Pulsator, I buy a memorette class 10 32 gb sdhc in ebay on USA (around 55 $ at home Malaga, Spain) and working very good.

I hope this information can be useful.

Best regards, Manuel.

Hi all, a question about Tim's ROM, Why you prefer the version Tim 3a, instead of 3d?

Somebody can explain a bit, the theme of the 3a non_cache?

Sorry if I am a little heavy.

Greetings. Manuel
