Root Supersonic to CM7 app restoration question

I did both a TI (pro) backup and Nandroid (AMon Ra 2.3)
on Supersonic (Sense) ROM.

I now have wiped and flashed AOSP ROM CM7 and Kernel Savaged Zen.

My question is simply,

I need to restore my apps and need to know if I can do this with the
either of the backups.

Is there a conflict here between the backup Sense and the new AOSP?

Can I restore from TI by selecting Apps + Data only, Instead of Sytem data restore?

search the formun for Gaaps this will allow all the google apps to be loaded and allow you to get back to business. Some of the programs can be installed using TB app and data has worked for me in the past. CM7 forum has gaaps as well when searched also there were answers to this very question not so long ago on this forum. These guys are great ans will get it done. I will see if I can find a thread and repost. I love CM7 with a tiamet Kernel..

ok so there two different things you are talking about. first, titanium backup is an app that just backs up primarily your apps and its data. a nandroid backup is done in recovery and is a complete snapshot of the current state of your phone. anytime you flash or make changes to your phone always to a nandroid backup. if things go wrong or you do not like a rom and such, you can always restore to a previous nandroid backup.

and yes do not restore system data. apps+data restore is ok.

going to and from sense and aosp, you need to make sure that you have a clean slate for the rom to install. so i would wipe, wipe, and wipe some more. there are two great tools that you can use to help make sure that your phone is clean to flash a new rom. i have used calkulin's format all .zip which wipes system, cache and dalvik cache for you. i am using vr superwipe which use's caclkulin's format all and caclkulin's clear temp and performs them both three times. you can get them in the roms/kernel sticky.

as I only wiped once from AmonRa recovery.

Actually, the successful one wipe/install was done in a little unorthodox manner....

I wiped everything, including the CM7 ROM on the sd card and the Savaged Zen Kernel on the sd card. I used the USB-MS toggle and transferred each to the handset and flashed them from there.

Everything turned out ok, but from what you're saying, when the apps are restored, I may have problems because I only wiped once.

Would you recommend redoing this?
Then, restore apps + data with TI and gaaps?

Thanks.

there is the possibility that not having a clean environment for a rom to be install into will always have issues. same goes for restoring apps. whenever i go to and from sense and aosp roms, i make sure that it is super clean and wipe multiple times. i never had any issues so far. so starting over by super wiping then re-flash the rom is a good idea, if you are still having issues.

How do you reccomend "super wiping"? Also side, question, if you restore to a previous nandroid backup, does that roll back your radios as well? (asuuming you flashed them)

for me before i flash a rom i wipe system, dalvik cache, and cache. then i use vr superwipe found in the rom/kernel sticky. just flash it like you would a rom. after it does its thing then i flash my rom. never had any issues so far using that method.

I followed all of your suggestions and have had no problem proceeding.

I have restored apps with gaaps and TI Pro - no problem.

I now have paired a BT keyboard that I am trying to get to work. The mouse
paired and is working. However, an HDMI cable is remaining undetected for some reason.

Any suggestions?

are you using an app like hdmwin? try unintalling it then re-download it. maybe do a wipe of dalvik cache and cache.

however pairing and connecting do not.

I have downloaded qwerty.kl and unzipped it to the correct folder.

Suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks.

I am following.

I will go over it again. I may have missed something.

Paired but not connected error seems quite common though.

Should be alot of google links on that one.

When doing a titanium backup, I know I want to select apps, but doesn't doing system data mess stuff up between ROMs?

I want to backup my apps and the app data that goes along with that, but I only see system data as an option. Can you only back up app data with the pro Titanium?

My first three backup options are

Backup user apps
backup all system data
backup all user apps + system data

I just want to make sure I don't bork a ROM
