Which video formats are supported on the HTC Desire HD?

audio supported formats:

• playback:.aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav, .wma (windows media audio 9)
• recording:.amr

video supported formats:

• playback:.3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv (windows media video 9), .avi (mp4 asp and mp3), .xvid (mp4 asp and mp3)
• recording:.3gp

For video it would be best you use mp4 for any mobile device as its easy to port and has decent a/v containers to deal with high quality multi streams datas.

You can also get divx and avi support if you install RockPlayer. I'm sure it also supports other formats, but they are the main two that I use

RockPlayer also does .mkv files.

Ye I've used Rockplayer with every Android handset i've owned, although MKV videos are very twitchy

I convert my mkv's and get no glitches, never tried rock player. I try to keep the best quality so they look awesome on my phone!
