Swapping out SD Card

I'm sure this has been asked before, but didn't find the answer in a search...

I want to swap out the 2gb card that came with my prevail with a 16gb card. Do I need to do anything special? Cut and paste everything from existing card to new card?

That's what I did, swapping the stock 2 for an 8 when I bought the phone, and then last month swapping the 8 for a 32.

However, I used another Android device (Archos 5IT) to copy the card. Windows may do things diifferently, perhaps someone else has done it and can say more.

I doubt that it would hurt to try. If it doesn't work just put the old card back until you figure it out.

I just took my pictures and my apks when I did this.
Switched out my 4gb
For the 8gb I found in a broken lg phone

I just make a copy of sd with pc...unmount old sd...insert new sd...drag stuff from copy to new sd...like backups and anything important you need back

If you are running an ext. with A2SD , S2E , etc. , you will need to format the new sdcard before transferring data . If you do not , all data will be erased when you format and you will have to transfer the data again .

Yep..good practice to keep backup of entire sd on the pc...that way if you did copy everything over before you format...or if later on you decide to format and your sd gets wiped...youll have that handy dandy backup
