I have to say this is the best keyboard I've ever used on a phone. I was a big fan of the gingerbread keyboard and was reluctant to switch because I'd tried them all, FlexT9, swype, the regular shiftkey and didn't really like any of them. I can't say enough good things about this keyboard though and I'm very happy I decided to try it again. I hope they start releasing more keyboard themes in the market or online. I would really like a few options other than the 3 default ones.

And now its even better because they fixed the HTC email glitch.

I really want to like the keyboard, but so far it's been a little frustrating. Maybe I need to give it some time to learn how I type?

You definitely need to get used to a new keyboard and SwiftKey does seem to have a higher learning curve compared to Swype. Definitely worth it though!

Until you can swipe - I'm sticking with Flex T9 Text - you can type/swipe/gestures (like with a stylus - not sure why) or speak

+1 - Especially since it was free also!!! :-)
I got both free also. Flex T9 definitely seemed better in terms of more consistently entering the key I was aiming for, but for me the AI word prediction capability of SwiftKey more than made up for that, especially since I do a lot of one-handed portrait typing. Oftentimes I can type whole sentences with many words only requiring one or two taps per word. And the AI prediction is extremely helpful when typing in foreign languages.

If you tell me it has swipe (if you're using 1-hand, I assume it does, and how to enable it - I would be more than pleased to give it another try. . .

No, I don't think it does. Personally, I have no interest in Swype, but I've never tried it, just never thought I would like it. If there was an AI predictive keyboard as good as SwiftKey that also had Swype, I might give it a try ... if I was bored.
