Swiftkey X setup issue on rooted SGS2.

I am currently running Andy X Rom 15.1 and the latest Siyah Kernel.

Swiftkey X is a superb addon for Android but i cannot select it as default at any point in the install process.

The "long press" solutions offered do not work, i've tried all the methods of clearing cache and rebooting but to no avail. On the initial install and when it comes up to choose the default input device there is no way for me to change it from "Samsung IME".

Any help getting Swiftkey running would be appreciated :)

Have you gone to Settings -> Language and input and made sure Swiftkey is enabled as an input method (box next to it is checked)?

Yes it is actually showing as enabled but it will not set as default when the option comes up.

It always stays as Samsung IME.

Try going to...

Settings > Applications > All > Samsung IME > Clear defaults, Clear cache, clear data

then re-enable Swiftkey and re-boot your phone.

Glad you got it working.

BTW have you updated the app to Swiftkey3 that was just released a couple days ago? If you haven't, you should. It is an awesome update!

Will get that done tomorrow thank you.

Excellent keyboard but for some reason the flashing of a rom on my S2 took it out of commission.

I had to go through a routine of clearing cache and data, freezing, enabling and restoring existing keyboards via Titanium Backup and all the required reboots just in order for me to be able to reset the default input correctly.

As soon as i grab v.3 (heard it is on offer now), then i think my phone will now be "complete" for some time :D

Sometimes ROM updates do some funny things.

And, I tell myself all the time that my phone is "complete", it never lasts long. Not with all the great stuff on android!
