Help Switch BACK from Swype to Standard SMS

I switched to Swype but I dont like it just yet. How can I switch it back to the standard multi touch input?!

settings -> language & keyboard -> input method.

edit: ah yes, i suppose the long press method would be easier

long press the text field, then scroll down to Input type and select the other keyboard.

I was actually the opposite today. I tried swipe before, and didn't like it. I switched back today and it was the best thing ever....

I keep going back between the two! But I think I'm finally settled on Swype...


I just REALLY, REALLY, WISH somebody made an app that allowed Swype for portrait mode and Multi for landscape... it'd be the perfect combination!

I loved Swype from the first time I ever used it. There are a couple of features Slide It has I wish Swype would adopt. I tried Slide It, pretty good, but I prefer Swype.

I used Swype for about a week and just couldn't get used to it. Switched to Swift Key Beta, and while that is good, just wasn't 100% for me.
Then I read a post here about using Swype - how it works much better if you use "rounded" almost 'cursive' swypes, rather than straight/jerky/jagged lines. Since, that, Swype has worked wonderfully....so much better.
