It turns out that on Wednesday, I will upgrading to the Galaxy S3 and I have no idea how to switch my phone number to the new phone. Can somebody help me out?

When you get it, you can goin, call, or activate your S3 online. You will keep the same # long as you have an active account.

PlayfulGod nailed it on the head, however whenever I need to switch or activate phones, I usually use Metro's website.

You will have to create an account in order to utilize it. I prefer this method over calling due to history of abysmal service. Congratulations on your new phone.
