Root Swype for Evos

Hmmm... I have been dying to get swype for a long time now, and i just downloaded and installed (its legit and from swype.com lol dont worry)
Did the beta re-open or something?

(I dont know if its okay to post about swype, i know we werent allowed to post up the .apk file for those who wanted it.....so if this is against the rules feel free to delete!!!)

Good question. I know they just re-opened the beta, but you'd have gotten an email (I finally got one yesterday).
 
Yeah, that's a link for the swype installer. If you don't have an active account as a beta tester, you can't get the actual swype app.
 
Dammit!! I just told my friend about it and we tried to do the same thing. No go though because he doesnt have an account :(

Those that have an account get an email when changes are made to the beta software. I received an email earlier this week informing ne there was a new version.
 
Yep. I registered for the beta about 6 months ago and nada. I went out and found a copy that worked and the next day they accepted my beta membership and sent me the links. Go figure...

Swype is the bomb. I love it.
 
OP, more than likely you HAD PREVIOUSLY requested a Beta account. Your PC, as smart as it is most likely REMEMBERED your userid and password.

You just happened to stumble onto the Swype site 2 days after they began issuing new beta testing accounts, and low and behold, BAM your userid was granted access.

Side Note: I like this new Dec version, all except the single letter exception for field inputs like Google search, URL and personal info.

Well i love it so far, im glad i got it.

And yes, its in here because im trying to help my bros out lol
 
Hope you like it.

Does anyone know how to get it off my evo so that i can reinstall it on different roms when i try them out? Say when the beta closes?

Id really hate to find a new rom down the road i love and then not have swype..

lol.. too funny. I came here to report exactly the same thing. Found a hacked version and my beta invite was received the next day (earlier this week).

Maybe the hacked version is reporting back...

I'm registered with Swype and didn't receive an e-mail. How did you go about finding the hacked version???
 
im having some issues with swype.. i am a beta user (signed up months ago) ive been using swype for 7-8 months.. started on my Moment, now my evo.. heres my problem: everytime i dload the new version, it only works for a day or less... when i try to swype, it doesnt do anything except, blink..no words any ideas?

I had that happen yesterday. Change your input back to default then back to swype again. That fixed it for me.
