i was talking about regular English words. I know it will have to learn the custom stuff. Ok, that worked well. Really sloppy, and it got it anyway.
 
Whew! Thank you!! I had just installed it on my boyfriend's phone last night, telling him how awesome it was.... LOL

I would be lost without Swype.....and would be willing to pay for it.

When are they going to make it officially available? Anyone know?

I would be willing to pay for it also. But it looks like they're not really interested in selling it in the market. Seems they just want a contract with the phone companies so it comes on every phone.
I contaceted them and this is what they said:

Thanks for contacting us, and for your kind words about Swype. Swype is not currently available for direct purchase/download on any platform. Our current business model is OEM licensing, which means that the only way to use a feature-complete Swype is to purchase a device that ships with our keyboard pre-installed.

The good news for you is that we do have a beta program for Android, located at beta.swype.com. Enrollment is currently closed, but we’re planning to open some more spots soon. Please visit this site to register. When we do open things back up, you’ll receive an email with download instructions for your Eris.

Well, my wife's just expired as well. It was working this morning after mine had already expired. I just downloaded the second white theme for her. I wanted to see what it looked like without having to put it on mine :)

I honestly like the grey/black theme better, and she likes the white theme better! It's a win/win!

Must be doing something wrong. Downloaded Sed's link, installed it. Long press to choose input method, choose Swype, and then I'm not able to get any keyboard to appear. 2.1 OTA.

The first step before the long press is Settings- keyboard. Make sure Swype is checked
 
Forgot that step. When I went to check it though, it was already checked. Unchecked. Rechecked. And now I'm back to Swyping. Thank god. Thanks cableguy.
 
I need help! I'm still on 1.5. My swype expired and I just got the new one posted here. I am currently typing with it, no problem. However, my settings aren't working. When I go to swype settings to turn off the sound associated with swype, it lets me check that box but it doesn't actually turn off the clicking sound while typing. Any ideas?
 
Do these linked versions work after reboot? I tried the new beta version earlier (I signed up for the beta the first day it was open) and after reboot I got an incompatibility message, saying that some features would not work.
