Swype!!!

Really? Nice. If Swype's beata forums weren't jacked up at the moment, I'd be asking them when ICS will be supported (err..the galaxy nexus anyway) since it doesn't support that resolution yet
 
Been working ok for me so far. Every once in a while I'm still getting an error telling me the resolution is not correct, but if I click OK, it still lets me use it.
 
How do you go about installing this? I've downloaded and installed the apk, but can't figure out what to do next.

Never mind, I found it. No longer can you just long press on an input box to bring up the input settings.
 
Go into settings > language & input

Then scroll down and make sure Swype has a green check mark next to it (if it doesn't check it)

then press the settings icon next to it and the top menu item is "select input method"...press that and select Swype...

Is swype ever going to be out of beta and readily available in the market? I was in the beta but got sick of waiting so I gave up...plus the stock keyboard in gingerbread and now ICS are pretty damn good...

Swype primarily concentrates on providing the keyboards to OEM's like Motorola. I think their Beta program is to test out different features and fixes before they send an update out to the OEM's. I read that they will be working on supporting our screen size (or removing the screen size limitations all together) but it won't happen until sometime next year...
 
FYI, this beta NEXUSorBUST is relaying to us doesn't utilize the new voice input for ICS. It uses the old one. Not a deal breaker for me but just a heads up.

Nice having Swype again
 
If anyone has a problem with sideloading swype like this I recommend checking out flext9. It's not as fast and doesn't have all the things swype has but it has been more accurate for me and works work perfectly on the nexus.
 
Yeah, I feel much clunkier without Swype and wonder how I ever did it in the first place.

My girlfriend loves her iPhone, but she sees me using Swype and drools.
