Help Sync calendar to cloud

Hello, did some searching but couldn't find an answer on how to either get the "My Calendar" to sync up to my gcal or make entries on my phone that go to my gcal account vs to the "My Calendar" one. I tried unchecking the "My Calendar" option in the app, but it seems to only hide the entries. Entries I make are still going to it, even though it is unchecked. Thanks for any assistance!

When inputting a calendar entry I have 2 choices: "my calendar", and my gmail account. If I check the gmail account then it syncs with my google calendar. Not sure if this answers your issue

'My Calendar' is useless for anything really, from what I can tell. I try to ignore it and only use the calendars I've got set up on Google.
