Help Sync'ing music to my Incredible

I suggest Mp3Tag. It'll actually embed the album art in your mp3s that way you never have to worry about any program "finding" it ever again.

Unfortunately their appears to be some issue in the Incredible that doesn't allow the album art sync'd over from iSyncr to display.

I emailed the developer and he told me that he was aware of it, but it's an issue on the Droid Inc side of things.

He said that he noticed that the Inc somehow "found" the album art after a day or so somehow, which is weird.

Question: I'm a pretty avid user of Smart Playlists, especially those that rely on rating and last played date. Therefore, it's important to me that song metadata is written back to iTunes to make sure, for example, that my "50 Forgotten Gems" playlist updates with new music each time I sync. iSyncr purports to write back to your iTunes DB. Does it work well? How about TuneSync?

Thanks in advance!

You can all laugh at me but I use windows media player. I have been using it for a while now so I already had my play lists set. I just connect my dinc in storage mode and after the initial setup in wmp, I just open wmp connect my dinc and it syncs up.

All I do is open my MP3 Folder and the Music folder from the phone and drag and drop. Easiest thing to do.

If you added your art from iTunes.... iTunes doesn't actually add the art to the mp3 files themselves (or any other type of music file). What it does is have a separate directory of album art and then uses an xml file to link your music to the directory of music (which is why when doubletwist syncs the music...the art is left behind).

If you music collection has the album artwork included within the mp3 itself...it will transfer.

If you use a program such as Tag&Rename (assuming you are on a windows machine) you can scan your whole music directory and see what artwork is missing. It can download the missing artwork from the web for you if you want.

If you click and copy the artwork in the artwork window in iTunes, select all the songs in the album, and paste right back in the artwork window it will embed the album art in the actual mp3. I've done this for years. Everything even shows up using bTunes. I never asked for it to look for artwork either.

Thats what I wanted to do, tried to do, but mine wouldn't do. I've tried several times to no avail.

Should be easy. Let me see if I can help.

Open WMP. Plug in phone in storage mode.

You should see the drive(s) now on the left. Pick whether you want to sync to internal memory (haven't tried, but I don't see why that wouldn't work) or SDCard.

Right click on the drive, select setup sync. Check sync this device automatically. Move over to the right any playlists you want to sync and move to the left any ones you don't. Click finish.

Right click on the device again, select options->select settings. In devices tab->advanced, Uncheck all of the conversion options (unless you really want WMP deciding on it's own to reconvert music/movies).

Might need to do that 2nd step first as I think it might start syncing right after the first step.

Then whenever you want to re-sync, just open WMP, plug in the device in storage mode and let it work.

I would love to use Windows Media Player 12 for syncing with my Incredible, but it will not recognize it. I used WMP12 for syncing my Sansa and loved it. I wish I could get my Incredible to sync. Any ideas why my WMP12 will not see it? I put it in disk mode and it still does not see it. I have tried everything and am getting very frustrated.

The other problem I have with WMP is that my entire music collection was in WMA (all the CDs were in lossless format). WMP will not convert those files when transfering in storage mode.

I tried doubletwist and found it to be beta quality at best and it also was missing too many autoplaylist features based on ratings. I used Monkey Audio for a while and was reasonably happy with it, but another thing I really disliked was that there's no way of rating songs on the device. iSyncr was supposed to add that as a widget so I bought it. However, it syncs with iTunes (which I've never used) and I then found out that iTunes doesn't import ratings.

So, I fired up Monkey Audio and created a copy of all 9K songs in .mp3 format with the ratings (192kbps LAME). I then cleared my WMP library and imported the new versions so that I could use a program I found on the web to transfer the ratings from WMP to iTunes.

I had placed all of the files on a Windows Home Server machine so I can share them with a media center PC hooked to my TV/stereo running Windows Media Center. I'm now thinking that I'll have to periodically sync the ratings from iTunes back to WMP so that will update the files which will then eventually be updated on the media PC's library.

Why can't we all just get along?!
