system updates

So why is it that the Droid phones are not getting the latest updates on? I have a droidx and am still running on 2.2.1 while others are running on the most recent version! Maybe someone can explain this to me.....??????

Because Motorola doesn't care about updating the phone software or listening to its customers.

Things are very different with HTC for comparison.

What updates are you expecting? No one else except two people claim to have gotten an update, and it's probably a beta. Don't worry, it will come, or it won't.

I understand your concern and confusion. You actually ARE on a the latest update, believe it or not! The few people who were given the over the air update of gingerbread got it by total accident.

Those of us, now, who are on Gingerbread are rooted users who flashed the leaked Gingerbread. There is a rumor that Motorola will roll out the over the air update of Gingerbread sometime in May.
