T-Mobile FROYO update

If i get a text message from someone who'se conversation is live with me, but I leave the the phone to display off on it's own after about a minute, not pressing the power button, then i get about 5 seconds of the ringtone. this works great for me

HTH

According to T-Mobile's "official announcement", it's testing the UK release of 2.2. However, T-Mobile told me that it doesn't know what's likely to be in it......

SMS -

i) Several problems. I've clicked on a text and a different thread has opened, this has happened several times.

Applications - Even with automatic update ticked, it still shows up as an update available and i need to manually update.

One a few occasions I experienced the SMS problem above.

Re: Automatic updates, I have found my apps tend to tick the box theirself!

I assume that they tested it last time as well, yet we still ended up with the German version! I can't wait to see what we get this time! :D

I would really like to try Zimbabwean please T-Mob:eek:

I noticed the other day that the pound symbol isn't one of the symbols available on the main keyboard layout (I'm using the default keyboard). I'm sure it was before I upgraded.

I'm sure all my settings are set to UK where they can be.

Was it there pre-Froyo, or am I being stupid?

It's on the second symbol page, where it was previously.

Got an system update message this morning so may be things are fixed. Since 2.2:

I've had erratic data signals
I can have the situation where no bars are shown but have an HSDPA signal
then the bars jump up and down
move the phone 6 inches and it will move from HSDPA to GPRS
generally far more 3G when I would normally get HSDPA

Fingers crossed for the update, the new version is : 2.12.110.4
Old version was : 2.12.110.2

The description only mentions removing the unnecessary German applications. Don't tell me we've waited this long just for this!

I was hoping the "dropped calls" issue is fundamentally what causes my erratic signal hence both would be fixed; as you say how long to remove a few random apps.

What is the point of having: Check for Software updates automatically ticked?
I've had it ticked from day one and it hasn't picked up any updates to date.

My upgrade just created an error. Apparently you need 25MB of free space to apply this.

The whole lack of space on the desire is starting to bug me now.

I still have:

- MobileTV
- Download Navigon
- TopApps
- Mobilbox Pro

The only one that seems to have gone is: MedienCentre. WoW! 2 months to remove 1 app. They must've put in plenty of overtime to achieve that !!

Anyone know the point of this update now?
Also as per earlier poster I never seem to get notified of updates even though it's ticked!!

I did the update today, only thing I've noticed is that it seems to boot up a lot faster. Not much internal memory reclaimed from losing that MedienCentre or whatever it is though.
