Root [T-Mobile] LG G2 Brick - D801 - Stock TOT File

Seems to be a common problem lately. What got you into this in the first place? Did you accidentally flash a D802 rom?

edit: ok, i saw your answer above after I posted.
 
Uh boy, this is kinda messy. Just to get it all straight...you are stock, the wrong firmware (D802 instead of D801), and you have no custom recovery right? And the phone is not booting.
 
do you think if i re-install the d802 firmware just to let the phone going and install a recovery system on it and them the d801 will work ??
 
What happens if you try to enter recovery anyway?

Long hold power button for 20 seconds to ensure its off. Then press volume down and power until phone starts up...if it makes it to an LG splash screen, release power and volume down and then immediately press them both again together.

Do you get an option for recovery or factory reset?

That's an absolute last ditch effort when and if you are prepared to throw the phone into a dumpster if it fails. Was it running on 802 firmware ok while in your possession? And then you did something else to cause this most recent failure?
 
goes back at the same state as b4 .... at one point a had com.android.phone file missing error, so i think the guy deleted same original files
 
Unfortunately, your options are limited. The only thing you have working right now is download mode so your idea of trying to flash the D802 firmware might be about the only way.

If that results in a working phone you could get adb working by enabling developer options, usb debugging and then kill the laf partition so as to force fastboot mode. At that time, you could then fastboot flash all the partitions using the D801 img files in that previous link I posted. Only thing is...I don't know if one can flash the PrimaryGPT.img or not or if that would result in bad things happening. I don't know what that is tbh.

That's the only idea I have. If you would like to get a 2nd opinion, ask the guys in IRC:

do you know where i can find the TOT file for d802 HNG file ??? i will try to re-install the d802 first if i cant get it to work them i'll contact those guys.
 
If I was the op I would contact them now and send them the device back for a full refund cause they know they got over on you just waiting for you to see.
 
Thanks for this post, spent several hours with trying to do this with the .kdz method and had nothing but problems. Once I found this page, I was back to stock, rooted and now on the hunt for TWRP and a custom rom.
