This really sucks. i hate tmobile. I lrft them for Metropsc

metroPCS will run t-mobile and keep their name with deutsche telekom slowly giving up ownership of the company.

NO. T-mobile bought Metro.

Argghhh. T-mobile's CEO stays in charge (so T-mobile runs T-mobile), T-mobile name stays. Metro gets 1.5 billion for their spectrum and licenses. Metro name goes away, Metro stores near T-mobile stores go away.

DT still owns 76% of the the combined company. The accountants are calling it a merger for tax reasons, but it was a sale. Metro sold out to DT (T-Mobile)

relax buddy, i gotcha.

Least well have the Note 2 (maybe :D) I really don't care. Don't know why everyone is making such a big fuss about it. One company bought out another and now becoming one. Happens everyday throughout America and around the world. That's how alot of companies grow. A lot of people are acting like it's the end of the world and Tmo and Metro are the only carriers in the world and now there's only one. Metro sucks. We can all say that. But hey we like the bill/plan prices. IF prices go up and IF quality and coverage/data speeds or whatever? I'll gladly pay a little more for the better. I mean seriously of I could afford and wanted to be in a contract, I'd be on one of the big 5 paying more Ahaha :D;)

Just my 2 cents which don't mean much but hey to me it's whatever :D

from what's being said on metroPCS.com metro is gonna go the way of boost and virgin.

Unlimited Wireless Service - MetroPCS

2. How does this transaction benefit MetroPCS customers?

We believe that this combination will best position MetroPCS for long-term success, supported by the best talent in the industry.
We are confident that, through this combination, we can offer customers a wider selection of affordable products and services, deeper network coverage and a clear-cut technology path to one common 4G LTE network

Heres how I see it:

GSM > CDMA - reason why, GSM devices have better call quality and better battery life (Ask any CDMA GNexus owner ;)), and is super easy to change devices & keep your # etc.

T-Mobiles LTE/4G + MetroPCS's = more/better coverage for us all

IMO I think they would be better dumping the CDMA all together and going full GSM, but they may use both, I doubt seriously they dump GSM tho.

It's still a bit confusing but on page 5 of the investors presentation they referred to the transaction as a ''reverse acquisitions of T-Mobile by MetroPCS''.

Also on page 20 it looks like they plan to migrate convert MetroPCS PCS spectrum to HSPA+ and the AWS spectrum to LTE by the second half of 2015.

I was planning on getting the S3 but I think I'll just keep using my connect and see what happens next year.

Did yall see today that MetroPCS was bought by T-Mobile!!! ... Maybe our 4g network will get faster and extended more :) Fingers Crossed!

Dream on...

MetroPCS represents a potentially big lost opportunity for Sprint. The two companies use the same network technology (CDMA), which would have made for a relatively smooth integration of customers and devices. T-Mobile runs on GSM, so the company will have to convert MetroPCS

Honestly I dont give a damn as long as my plan stays the same and like the CEO of metro said our service will operate normally I dont give a damn lol. And well I understand that you guys like to change phone very often ,but think about ti what if you want to give your phone to siblings, so yes to the question most people will still use the GS3 after two years and I plan on doing so as well I already changed too many phones.

Notice in the announcement that the ceo made that it keeps saying "before" the merge fully completes. No where does it say what happens after. This is the part where your metro phone becomes useless and you are moved over t mobile. So keep that in mind. Granted this won't happen for a while but It will happen.

That is true, but then again what about the Volte thing. I really dont think our phone will become useless I guess we just have wait and see

Just talked to t mobile and even they said to wait before dropping it on the s3. They said all the details should be out and the full merger should be completed in about 6 to 9 months.

He sounded competent but idk. No one knows i guess lol

VoLTE is the direction mobile carriers are heading. LTE may drain your battery faster but it's a much more efficient usage of spectrum. I can't see T-Mobile rendering the GS3 obsolete.
