Root [T-Mobile] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/15**

In the meantime I'll continue reading all his posts ...maybe I'll get lucky..

For root and/or recovery you can follow the guide on my site in the following link. Recovery comes in an app that installs it for you...

When you click the link in the first post of this thread you'll see ROM installation directions, downloads, and screenshots along with extra optional stuff.

And lte2 recovery by Hroark13 is what installs TWRP on the F6, also another app you install and run and when done you have a custom recovery and the best one in my opinion which is TWRP. Hope to have all the fun I did on this rom. I Didn't get it all down pat at first but I did in time & so can you. Its by far the best 4.1.2 ROM for the F3 & F6 bar none. Its deodexed zipaligned busybox binary included no gapps flashing required! GT did a great job on this ROM. Thanks again GT.!

Hm. I'm little confused here..?
Rooted- fine
Installed superSU and busy box - fine
Installed TWRP - fine
Downloaded Xperion ROM zip - fine..
Installed Freedom kernel - fine
...now when I open recovery and wannado a backup ( per rROM installation instructions) , I swipe to do a back up and it keeps telling me " back up complete - failed" ...?

Also, says install ROM zip from ext sd card....- does this thing even have a ext sd card?.. Seems it's all the same ( sd and internal storage)...?
What am I doing wrong...?

The external sd is the micro sd card you buy and put in your phone for extra storage.

The backup fails because your backing up to the internal sd which on this phone it does not have enough space to make a backup... Hence why the directions say external sd. In twrp it gives the option to backup to the external sd instead.

When I open file manager, it says storage/sdcard
And on the bottom of that list is the ROM zip file...is that it..?

Right that's the internal sd where you're seeing the rom. You should be downloading large files like roms to your external sd card instead. If there's not enough space in the internal sd for the rom zip then you can end up with a corrupt zip.

You should get yourself a micro sd card with at least 8gb of storage if you plan on installing roms and making backups.

T-Mobile LG f6 D500

Got TWRP, flashed Xperion ROM and kernel.
I waited few weeks to post this to see if there would be any problems. But no. Everything works flawless.
Thank you guys for saving my phone.
Actually phone not only has no issues anymore but it works lot better.

of course as soon as i said that something went wrong lol. i dont think its rom s fault..
all of a sudden my mobile data was disabled and i couldnt turn it back on. which was the problem i had with the stock rom in the first place. i went into TWRP did a wipe and flashed xperion all over. only now im stuck w no data and a black screen. im asumming im in bootloop. how do you get into recovery on a lg f6 using hard buttons ? and...what is actually going on w the phone...its weird

ok. got into TWRP however if i do anything it says failed.
backup ....failed
wipe reset...failed...
am i soft bricked ??

Go into twrp and select "wipe" then "format data" and type "yes" then click "go". This will remove the temporary internal storage encryption. After doing this you should be able to restore your backup or flash a rom. As for you not having data I don't know, you've been the only user with that issue and since you've experienced this on stock then perhaps start a new thread to see if other folks might have a solution for you.

(If I had to guess, I'd say it's something your doing on the phone or an app your installing that's causing the data issue.) Start a new thread and go from there.

Hoping some one can help, couple of issues at play here. I can't remember when ported this new ROM over to my F6 but since then it's been really laggy. Like really laggy. I get frustrated enough that I have to power cycle it to get back to square one.

The second, and bigger problem, is when I check my phone by pressing the home button the phone seems to freeze. Occurs most commonly when I have a notification and the home button is blinking. I'll press the button and the back and menu buttons will light up. But the screen remains black and doesnt respond to any of the buttons. Back and menu will remain lit, the home button notification button will continue to blink for about 1-2 minutes and the phone will reboot its self.

This happens at least 6-7 time a day if not more and it's really annoying to the point where I'm willing to revert back to stock or get a new phone altogether.

Does any of this sound familiar? Any solutions? TIA

You seem to have an issue beyond the rom. I suggest you do a factory reset and reflash the rom to start fresh. Make sure that you're using apps from the play store and not from 3rd party sources that may have malware. If you're using link2sd or anything of the sort make sure you're using a class 10 sd card for optimal speeds of your apps.

Worst case scenario, you can return back to stock with the unbrick guide to see if that helps.

Also keep in mind this phone has little ram and internal storage so if you're running lots of apps and multitasking then lag is inevitable.

If the above doesn't solve your issue there's not much more I can suggest. I do know for sure the rom works well.

I tell you the truth, I do not like the system 4.1.2. Experion is a redesign of the same software that brings this mobile. I'm hoping to make some small corrections CarbonRom to install them. The phone's performance is much better with this rom and also is kk 4.4.4.

I thought Carbon still has some broken stuff. No? Like led or vibration not working I think? There's no way some of us could use a rom without vibration.

Carbon is being worked on at the moment. If you guys are concerned about Carbon head over to its' thread and you can discuss it there. Lets keep this thread on topic. Thanks

I myself turn off vibration and it's battery draining features off on any ROMs I run anyway. But ya let's not hijack GT's thread. & so I will head on out of here on this note. I absoluty love the Xperion ROM!!!

It really is a work of technical art. Beautiful work GT. The Rom is just perfect. You really do some good work. It was the first ROM I had ever flashed and just this past summer. I've came a long way since then. Sorry I didn't know enough back then and bugged you so much [emoji51]
