My friend has the Moment and on his text keyboard in the stock messaging app he has a microphone icon where he can talk to the phone and it types out the text. My Hero (with same looking qwerty text keyboard doesnt have that icon.

How do I get it?

Does NOT have to be rooted.

It is NOT on the market, but can be downloaded the link above (you want the low-res version).

Sure.

-Click THIS (from your phone will work fine).
-Click on the file when it has finished downloading. Click install.
-Go to Menu>Settings>Keyboard and make sure that the Htc_IME keyboard has a checkmark next to it.
-Go to any text input screen (such as a text message) and press and HOLD the input area. A pop-up box should say "input method."
-Change input method to HTC_IME.

Go to settings again and adjust the keyboard to your liking.

conected the usb to my pc and download the file, but there is two one says apk and the other one says htc ime jonasl. so get both files?

Under Menu>Settings>Apps do you have the box checked that allows you to install non-market apps?

Honestly, I've never installed one that way, so I can't tell you for sure.

on my phone it shows that disk drive is connected but when i get to the install application on the bottom it says connect the phone which it is. so can i do this thru my phone without using the usb and my pc?

I'd email the apk to yourself. Download it through the browser and install it from there.

That's what I do anyways

After you move the apk to your SD card from your computer, you have to unmount it by changing it back to charge only.
