Tapatalk user revolt

I don't know - I stuck with the Pro version, and when I installed the new one the other day to test I didn't keep it long enough to find out what they were.

But this post from last year says that they would use your Tapatalk ID to carry over your paid features to the new TT. Of course that only works if you created a Tapatalk ID before the Pro app was retired and if you log in using the Tapatalk ID. So if like me you never created a TT ID in the first place then nope, they'd expect you to pay again.

They didn't remove the pro version from play store but it is not searchable. When you look in your "all apps" in playstore and if you have the pro version installed before. Then click on the icon, it will take you to the playstore download page.

Warning: you are about to enter a venting zone....

Since they have completely changed the interface, I think they should rename the app so as to distinguish it from the original (usable) app.

My suggestion for the new app name: Cr@p-a-talk.

I want a refund!

Just wondering...but are you all having the same problem with links not working in Tapatalk...

Viglink is for ads.

When I open forum post URLs in Tapa, they go to "tapatalk.com/redirect.php....something", and then onto the site I require, and don't touch Viglink or any other third-party ad networks.

Had anyone else tried version 4.11.2? It seems to be an improvement, but I still prefer the older UI. The current version still wastes too much space, and includes rarely used functions up front while more useful features are buried. With a single inadvertent tap in the middle of the screen I can unsubscribe from a sub-forum, on a screen I must touch somewhere to scroll. I might unsubscribe from a sub-forum twice per year. But to mark a sub-forum as read - something I do multiple times per day - requires opening a menu first.

Just tried it for grins and giggles. While I do like the fact that logging into Tapatalk didn't require me to log back into my Forums the way the pro version does some times on a reinstall or restore I agree that the UI is absolutely hideous and a space waster.

I use Tapatalk Pro 4.5.2 if I want to read forums. I have 4.11.2 installed for testing purposes. The company is weird. Winter Wong (CEO) has anger management issues and has only recently started using Tapatalk. He hates it when I post on their forum that they are on Festival. The whole company goes home for several weeks every other month for Festival but he won't admit it. Then when they get back from Festival there are usually different employees. No continuity. And they slam out updates without using the beta channel right before they go to Festival. Crazy.

Next they are going to publish the Tapatalk ID database so you can search for people with similar interests and stalk them. This will of course be done before bugs in the app are fixed.

I run four different versions of Tapatalk. It's a very useful tool. XDA said they were working on a replacement but I haven't heard any more about that.

This is something I miss from my blackberry, usually new versions of apps could run alongside older ones.

How do you do this? Do you edit the package signature? Or do you restore from backup each time?

Lately, my biggest complaint is that with all of the thread titles being in Bold ...it is difficult to tell which threads have new replies, and which threads I have already read.
