Root TBH new 3.0

I installed it and it works fine. I see what the dev meant. In the tranquility rom, you have special root settings, like rebooting into Clockwork. No biggie it works fine.

Steven, did you wipe everything, and then load it, or did you just load it over the ROM you were using? Seems his directions were a little strange to me, being you don't wipe or format anything?

Matt

If you are running an AOSP rom it won't work. I had to nandroid back to a 2.3.15 clean that I had and then install. I ran into my Facebook contacts not being in my contacts anymore... weird. So I nandroid back to my 2.3.8 Tranq that I had.

So format System, Data, cache? Then install zip? No need to mount system before install? Seems every ROM builder has a different way to install/load their ROM.

No matt... do not format system. I guess you could format data and cache if you wanted to start clean. But the way Tranquility installs is by only installing what it needs to over a Froyo system.

1) DO NOT WIPE YOU PHONE, DO NOT FORMAT THE SYSTEM.

2) in your app drawer have bootstrap recovery restart your phone in recovery.

3) Follow these steps exactly:
i. select install zip from sdcard
ii. select choose zip from sdcard
iii. navigate to Tranquility.zip and press the camera button
iv. reboot phone

10-4 Jon, Thanks!!!! I think I'll sit this one out, I have to be up at 4:45am for work, so if I run into problems, I don't want to be up half the night messing with this!

I'm running Fission which actually runs nicely, so I'll stay put for a few days anyways!

Thanks!!!

No problem man. If the facebook sync worked right I would be all over this ROM... as it sits I went back to 2.3.8

hey guys really quick question if im on the apex rom and would like to try this one how would i go about doing it?

Lol.. nandroid back to 2.3.8 where Facebook sync was working... decided to flash 3.0 again... and boom.. facebook sync is working now... hahaha... weird. Now I officially love this ROM.

You need to be running a clean 2.2 file system. I recommend flashing back to a nandroid you had before APEX or Fission or Rubix... all other ROMs before them used the 2.1.5 build and would be compatible with Tranquility.

yeah see about that i didnt make a nandroid cuz i 1 dont know that that is and 2 am stupid, so how else would you suggest to do it?

but... i didnt learn anything yet, cuz i still dont know what a nadroid is or what i should do, well i kinda know what it is but not entirely

Your nandroid would be the BACKUP you made (via Clockwork Recovery) of your deodexed setup you made before you installed Tranquility.

Maybe you should be moving slowly, Grasshopper. :D

I love the bootscreen and easy upgrade from my deodexed OTA 2.3.15.

Had to re-add all my widgets to my screens, not too bad tho.

Ran into some instability when I tried to add some text to Sticky Note, but better after a reboot.

but i didnt install it i have apex installed and i didnt back up stock so i guess i would have to sbf back to stock, root and than install traquil?

I have been running this for the last 2-3 hrs with no issues. Runs smooth and fast. Miss the blur alarm clock but thats it.. I came feom ZapX with no problem.

I'm on TranQ 3.0 now, and every time I reboot, my root apps will ask for root priv's again. This happen to anyone else??

Edit: FIX - Installed new superuser apk, good to go now.

yes, everytime I run a root app, even if I've run it before, it ask for permission, even if I have to box checked to remember permissions.

Run the superuser app in the app drawer, it'll say a new version is available, then go into recovery and flash the su-2.31.zip (or something like that) , reboot, and you'll be just fine.

After I updated the Superuser.apk, this rom is flying. And it includes all parts of Blur that I actually like. I would recommend this ROM to anyone. Just need to do that SU update, thats all. I havent seen any other bugs yet.

I totally recommend this rom with the su app fix. Cudos to P3!!

PS: Apologies for some android-ignorant comments I made. I deleted them. Back to the chat. :D

If you didn't do a nandroid you will need to do a sbf back to 2.2. When you do this next time, root after the sbf. Then make a nandroid so you have a clean base to always get back to.

does it automatically d/l? I'm looking for it and can't find it. Any idea where it deposits itself, if it does?

EDIT: NM. I found it hiding at the bottom of the SD card. :p (silly file!)
