Tea Party

I think it's funny when a white person disagrees with a minority they just LOOOVE to play the "race card" when it's got absolutely nothing to do with racism. It's getting old and tired.

Sigh.

That's really interesting. I live and work in an area with lots of so-called minorities. Every day, I talk with, work with, and meet with so-called minorities. We agree a lot, we disagree somewhat less. So far, I haven't heard the "race card" come up. Maybe it is because I don't pay attention to skin color, other than to notice some "minorities" have a better or different shade of tan than I have.

I suggest you look inward in order to resolve your apparent problems with "minorities."

Come to chicago, and visit cabrini green or ride the red line at night.

I would love to the reaction if any minority was to assemble, open carry firearms, and march on a capital.

Good thing you said "a capital." I'd have to laugh at you more if you had said the Capitol because the reaction would be federal prison. Just like if someone who wasn't any sort of minority marched, assembled or otherwise.

Seeing as how it was an obvious reference to the open carry marchers/marches (almost all backed by the "tea party") only someone completely clueless about current events would assume the Capital anyway.

I've supported open carry long before the tea party. This growing up in the most anti-gun democcrat run city in the states. Chicago. Funny part is, 99% of police officers support open carry as well. At least that I've talked to anyways. Hell, a few police officers even told me civilians saved their lives by drawing on a criminal shooting at an officer.

Here's thhe fundemental question here. Why would you realy want to support having less rights, and less liberties?

lol what in the devil are you talking about? Did I call anyone a racist? However since I called the Tea Party white republicans it's understandable you would associate that with racists.

All your logical fallacies and circular logic speak for themselves.
I'm very sure that if I referred to socialists as black democrats you would call me racist. Oh, the irony of the liberal double-standard!

There you go again. You think it is skin color that creates the element you so fear. I think it is grinding poverty, lack of opportunity, bad education, broken homes, and hopelessness.

Considering that those events were only relevant to paranoid leftists, I can see why you would try to call someone who ignored them completely "completely clueless."

Well, the Million Man March (oops, I mean ten thousand man march...) Was backed by the Nation of Islam and no one wanted to cower in fear. That event was almost as irrelevant as the "tea party" that you seem to fear so much.

I guess being completely clueless about our country's history is OK if you are familiar with the current events that one side or the other highlights during their diatribes that the sky is falling.

As long as you don't think that the only way to combat that is it redistribute what everyone has worked for, you and I are on the same page.

So you now see my point. The Tea Baggers are all claiming its just paranoid leftists that disagree with them. Now flip the scenario and its pananoid rightists. That is my entire point. The hypocracy that is the entire tea party "movement."

BS no one was concerned. How quickly people forget events and twist them to back their position.

No being completely cluess about anything and being extremely vocal about it is the problem. Hence all the wonderfully hilarious quotes that come out of tea baggers mouths.

The media is slow, but it is beginning to catch on...the tea partiers are nothing more than the usual suspects, the hard-liners in the Republican base. They're nothing new, the "movement" just tossed up a few leaders who know how to manipulate their sheeple followers.

For a while I thought the bad spelling, incredible grammar and racism I saw on their signs was just a joke. But I've seen a couple of the ********* rallies and been close enough to hear them speak to each other. The signs are an accurate reflection of who they really are.

I've seen a few so-called fiscal conservatives on TV these past few days, Republican state and national government officials praising Washington and the administration for getting involved so quickly in the gulf cleanup. Apparently government spending isn't so bad when it is your ax being sharpened, eh? :)

*sigh* More likely you were looking at your fellow libtards that were acting as infiltrators of the Tea Party. Libtards even admitted to doing so and before April 15th (tax day) there was a push for libs to crash the Tea Party rallies for tax day. Next time you see a badly spelled sign or hear the bad grammar that so assaults your tender libtard ears (because libtards use perfect grammar and spelling.), just smile at them and thank them for their liberal support.

Please...they're not tea party rallies...they are republican rallies. They're just republicans who are afraid to come out of the closet, as it were.

So bigotry and racial profiling is encouraged when it's for your libtard purposes of identity politics, but it's super sin #12 when you falsely accuse Arizona of racial profiling with the new law.

Got it. "Do as I say, not as I do."

These "Tea Baggers" as you would call them are just is irrelevant as the liberals that have to descend into name calling. Paranoid rightists are just as ridiculous, but since people claim that since there are only white people involved in the tea party, it must be a racial thing, it just looks like a pitiful attempt to sensationalize something in order to avoid the real issue.

BS no one was concerned. How quickly people forget events and twist them to back their position.

Maybe you just remember events in a way that is more convenient to YOUR lack of arguement. I have the same view on that event as I did when my classmates were invited as I do now. Just because most people weren't home hiding under their beds like you want to pretend that everyone was doing, doesn't mean that's what happened. Actually, it would have been more widely attended if they hadn't asked that it be a day for the men to take a stand. Even though it was backed by a hate group, a majority of the people going weren't haters. You couldn't possibly entertain the idea that this is what is going on here.

No being completely cluess about anything and being extremely vocal about it is the problem. Hence all the wonderfully hilarious quotes that come out of tea baggers mouths.

You aren't doing anything that is much different from them. In your zeal to paint them as a bunch of racists, you miss the golden comedic opportunity to zing them on the points they are actually complaining about. We can't actually do that, now can we?

I found it funny that a group that was so incensed by taxes being increased for BS reasons would patronize the eating establishments in DC during their demonstration as sales tax in the District is significantly higher than anywhere on this side of the country. I can get on board with kicking in a couple bucks to get your message out there, but still.

Nah, lets keep making up claims of racism and the hatred of Obama. Let's keep distorting the truth as you feel the need to distort the names of groups you fear. If we're going that way, I'd have to name your group which I will stick all of the crazy people on the right who think that the country is going to go to hell because we have a democratic president and congress 'the collective of Chicken Little.'

The level of hate from libtards towards anyone that disagrees with them is astounding. All of that emotional hostility must be the reason the libtards are the ones that have resorted to violence. They try to cover their own excessive racism by creating racism where none exists.

Just read what black Tea Party member Lloyd Marcus says:

Racism in America!? What racism?

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele said the GOP has not given Blacks a reason to vote Republican.

As a Black conservative Republican, I ask, what is the GOP supposed to do; serve soul food at Republican events? In other words, I reject the concept of dividing Americans into victimized groups and pandering to them. Besides, the democrats are masters of insulting the intelligence of Americans by playing the old and tattered victim, race and class envy cards. The GOP does not need to go down the same shameful disgusting road.

Brother Steele, how about the GOP showing a little respect for the American people by standing up for conservative values and principles. If you do this, they will come. Right minded Americans of all stripes will join our cause.

So how do you, Chairman Steele, think the GOP should attract more Blacks? Do we adopt "liberal lite" policies? Do Republicans prove they are "down with the brothers" by embracing a lighter version of the lie promoted by the race exploiting democrats by saying racism is still somewhat of a problem for Blacks in America today?

Yeah if anyone is affected by racism its the white male. Businesses in some cases hire less qualified minorities over better qualified whites for fear of being sued. You know, affirmative action and all that. I think race shouldn't even be a consideration during the hiring process, and should be soley placed on qualifications and work experience. But that's hard to do, sadly.

One solution,(but never going to be implemented) is double blind interviews. Whynot just have interviews via phone, internet etc where you can't see the person, and make your choices based on that. That would immediately quash all this nonsense.

I`m Tea party person, remember the name, Its about the taxes and all the stupid crap our goverment is doing. the goverment is out of control on it`s spending we are at almost 13 trillon in debt, and the goverment wants to keep spending, the goverment is too big, I`m tired of all of my money going to the goverment, I`m pissed when I heard that our stupid ass goverment is think about adding VAT tax, really do we need another tax? wait we have to pay for that great health care the government pass and there uncontrolled spending, look at Greece they are about ready to collapse they are so broke, the government works for us not the other way around, I think Our government forgot about that document called the constitution, WE THE PEOPLE.

So these guys hate Socialism so much, why do they continue to use city streets and federal highways? Why do they call 911 when something bad happens, or expect the police to protect them? I can't wait for these folks to live what they preach and go totally off the grid. I really want them to commit to what they believe in!

To return to the OP, city streets, federal highway, the such are not Socialism though...just because something is paid for by many people doesn't automatically make it Socialistic. And just because people use that something doesn't make them a Socialist.

Thus is the problem in the country today. Name-calling, assumptions and bickering over differences in opinion. While I am not a Tea Party member, I do agree with some of their fundamental ideals. Big government is not in the best interest of the country, redistribution of wealth is a PR term for taking more of our hard earned money to missappropriate and if you hadn't noticed, some of the proposed upcoming laws are further feeding America's already problematic inability to take personal responsibility. "Let us take care of you so you don't have to. We will give you health coverage, make sure you only eat healthy foods, make sure you only drive environmentally friendly cars, etc." It sounds an awful lot like a prelude to Socialism to me, but it may just be my belief that I should be responsible for my own actions, pay my own way and live life like my forefathers would have wanted- free. I do not have a racist bone in my body, but do have some disdain for those who choose to sponge off of others rather than to attempt to make a go of things. I do not wish to saddle my children with a debt so large they become slaves to the government. Does this make me a fool? Or does this simply make me someone who pays close attention to what is happening around me and has no qualms about letting others know when I see a potential problem? Think about what you read, see, hear and feel. Take in both perspectives and form your own opinions, don't blindly follow what one group of people says. Everyone twists words to their own agenda. While you argue amongst yourselves, what are you missing? Think about it.

Actually federal highways etc are socialist. Any time the collective body, aka government, controls a particular good or service it is considered socialist. Other services would include schools, fire/police departments, libraries, the military, NASA, etc.

But no, just because there are certain aspects of our society does not make us or those who use those goods/services socialists. The world is not black and white (not referring to race even tho that is the direction of this thread), instead there are infinitive degrees of grey in the middle. I personally don't think that either socialism or capitalism are perfect solutions, however they both offer benefits in certain areas (although I feel capitalism has benefits in more areas). For me its all about efficiency, what system (including a mix) provides the most benefit for the lowest cost in a given industry.

But does the government actually "own" the highways? I mean a state run company is owned by the government, but just because everyone pays to have a freeway maintained and fixed, does it mean it is Socialism?

In any event, I do agree with you that the world is grey. We shouldn't paint something as an evil just because it carries a certain name, in this case "Socialism". There is good and bad to all systems and we should use the good ideas from each to continually improve the human condition.
