Root Teach Me How To Flash

Coming from HTC all I had to do was put the file in the rot of the sd card and flash away. But I'm getting the feeling things work a little bit differently for Samsung. Someone please tell me how exactly to flash things in this CWR?

i assume you figured this out but CWR is clockwork mod recovery...similar to the custom recovery that you used with HTC...the menu you used to flash.

Ok Mr Ed I got a rom recommendation from another user and downloaded it to the root of m sd card, but while I was trying to put the phone into recover it ended up in the downloading mode and has been stuck ther for nearly 30 minutes. Did I brick my note?

No, at least I can't think of any way you would have bricked your phone. It will sit in download mode until you reboot, flash the phone with odin or the battery dies.

Have you rooted the phone and flashed clockworkmod? If not, do that 1st...

I just took the jump with "OnlyOne Beta " and it went perfectly; total time 25-30 minutes

If so, just pull the battery to reboot the phone, then make sure you are holding both the volume up AND volume down keys to enter CWM, if you are in the normal android recovery, you need to flash clockwork. Also once you have clockwork flashed and the phone is rooted, before you do anything else, create a backup, then save the backup to your computer; just for good measure.

Thanks mate... A battery pull cured all my woes.

As far bad the rom, it was okay but I couldn't get passed the 492 error in the market so I just flashed my backup. I now I'm rooted on stock rom looking for another rom to try.

Cool; I read through every rom I could find because I don't want to go flash crazy and settled on OneOne
[ROM] OnlyOne Goldie B5 - UCLE2 *SGS III TW* *SVoice* - Stock, Rooted, Deodexed- 6/12 - xda-developers

It is an ICS rom that is almost stock but with a lot of killer flare
My reasons:
S-Voice works
SGSIII TouchWiz
Beats Audio

As far after 9 hours of use, I am very happy; and looking at other posters, they agree.
