Root [Team Osiris][ROM][Beta] Unofficial CM11

Sorry for my absence... Pulling off a balancing act between gaming, school, android, and other programming projects is sort of difficult... finished my gaming PC last month so I've been gaming almost nonstop lately... Just look at my in-game play time on bf4 :/

I'll get back into the groove of things soon hopefully

I want to use this as my daily so bad but the known issues got me shook lol:(

dont worry. some things that arent working far outweigh things. its daily driver material. the dev will most likely release updates that we can flash via cwm to improve those missing or add those functions to the rom. all in all its worthy of daily driver material

Yeah... I myself have used it for well over 2 months as my daily driver... Only problem is Bluetooth and the upside down front facing camera that I can't seem to fix... The graphical glitches pop up occasionally but I didn't mind them... I did a pretty good job tbh... Gotta iron out the last of the eff ups

i had problems with the bluetooth and camera as well. but ik you can fix it completely. also your rom is great on battery life. it went from 52% to 35% while i was sleep and it was idle. perfect job with that.

the final thing which isnt much of a problem is brightness like you said. you think you can nip that one so that the phone doesnt turn off?

Yep... Another guy may have pointed me in the right direction... I'll try it out and have a build up tonight

hmm thats a bummer. but anyway great job on the rom. also the same person who guided you on the brightness problem do you think he can help you with the bluetooth?

He works on a totally different device and is pretty busy... The lg g2... This is also basically my solo project so no

Did a few builds last night... Didn't fix it... Oh well... Gonna continue working on it and see if I can fix any of the other minor quirks... Also might get video recording going

ik you will nail it down. besides the rom is smooth. ik some one who has a cyanogenmod based rom can help you on getting the other things working. keep up the great work

hes in the process on the brightness and mms. once thats fixed then he will give us a cwm flashable zip to replace the things that arent working yet. all in all you should try the rom. you wont be dissappointed

So, this morning I figured out something weird with the video recording problem. Video recording doesn't work, but it seems to work fine if you go to send a text, click on the Send Attachments option and choose record video. I recorded about 10 seconds of video to see if it worked, and sure enough, it did. It actually recorded it and let me play it back to me. Although this worked, I'm not sure if any videos are able to be saved to the device this way. The video quality seemed choppy too.

I saved the video by sending it (since mms doesn't work), and holding my finger on the text and clicking save attachment. It saved into the downloads folder in 3gp format.

Thx for that bit of info... Probably something extremely simple I'm missing

what else did you find when you were doing your experiments and are you a good developer
I haven't found anything other than that yet, that I can remember. And no, not so much. I just started getting a little more in depth instead of just themeing apps. I don't know nearly as much as most of these guys... Lol, but next year in highschool, I'll be taking programming courses which could help me become a somewhat developer eventually. Let's keep this thread on topic though. If you want, you can pm me if you have questions or anything.

yup will do. hmm you good with things as mms or bluetooth with phones to get them to work?

also is it possible to build this rom with this phones specs for an emulator in mind that way we can see whats working and whats not. that way we can fix whatever is needed.

To chevanlol... You won't be able to get a build with what is on my git... I have pulled a ton of patches from else where to get this ROM to even build let alone boot... I'll get all of my patches and external repos organized and make sure to include instructions and my local manifest in the device tree

Edit: and as for the 3.0.8 kernel... I backported ion to it but that breaks the ICS adreno libs because they use pmem... And I haven't gotten the libs from 4.1.2 to work nor some mako adreno libs I found... Need to update kgsl and some other stuff I think... The part that's really ticking me off though is that I can't get the 3.4 kernel to boot the stock libs either... I would love to simply use it rather than backport half of it to 3.0.8

hmm on this one here there may be something you might need to do within the kernel to get some things working. if you are gonna use the 3.4 kernel why not try to port things to the 3.4 kernel instead of using the 3.0.8 kernel. will that work or do you need to rework the whole kernel as it is
