Well all Galaxy S are similar in terms of sharing the same cpu/gpu and screen. There is much more that unites than divides the Galaxy S family. Its very true that what works on one software wise generally requires some modification to port to another, however I'd stop very short of calling them not similar at all

From what I gather on IRC lately, we are just waiting for a working kernel, correct? I think the radio layer is giving the devs fits.

depending on what you hear from who when (i know that sounds funny)....aosp is *mostly* working...as in (and im not 100% on this now) calls can be made and ended, but not received...sms can be sent and received...and data works (i think)...but there are signal reporting issues where the phone thinks it has no signal when it really does so that screws stuff up.

this is not inside information at all, just based on various conversations here and there...so take it with a grain of a salt obviously

as for froyo/gingerbread...those are entirely different issues and.....well...we shall see

Heh actually I thought I just read somewhere that 2012 is a mis-calculation. The calendar it was based on actually started 250 years later than originally thought, so its actually 2262 or something that will be the end of the world.

MAYBE by then we'll have Froyo.
