Help Tested games on the E3D

Hopefully the games run smoother in 3D than gameloft's current crop....
These ones are running like liquid excrement, barely pushing 15FPS in 3d, maybe 15-20 with chainfire. Sucks that they run so badly.

i got a problem with dead space ...

does someone tried that. when i collect items sometimes it looks like textures are currupt. it doesnt always appear .. sometimes its good sometimes not... it mostly appears after some minutes gameplay... not from the beginning i think ...

You must be in the wrong forums because Dead Space is not available on Android (yet).

As a side note though, the EA Mobile site was updated and now has 3 titles available for the E3D from it:

Bejeweled 2
The Sims 3
Worms

(All of which are also available in the Android Market as well)

Is there a way to access the Xperia PLAY market? Alot of the games made for the Adreno 205 seem to work with the 220. EA has titles like Bad Company 2 and Madden 11 for it, so if we could get access to that Market somehow we could buy/play those games too (we may run into trouble with some titles though if they don't support the touchscreen). I hate this stupid exclusivity BS.

Who would change carriers to buy an outdated product for a couple of exclusive titles? I could understand something like this in the console world where you have three major players, but putting exculsive titles in the mobile smartphone market not only seems rediculous, but they are basically setting themselves up to fail.

How's the 3D in some of the games? I got NOVA 3D, and it lags horribly in 3D mode. How are the other games?

I tried Nova yesterday, and it seems to be working ok (in 3D mode). I've tried spiderman demo and asphalt 6 (only the first few levels), and they work fine too.

I didn't notice any (noticeable) lag. Do you have a lot of apps open in the background? Do you have the same lag if you start the game right after a reboot (without launching anything else)?

Asphalt 6 is amazing in stereoscopic 3D. I try not to crank up the 3D too much, but a little over half does the game serious justice. Been playing it for the last 4 hours straight... Courtesy of my 4000mah battery.

robotekHD doesnt work? cause for me it does, has since i got my E3D about a week ago, lol. crisp graphics, one question though, on most the games i play like fruit ninja, whats up with the graphics looking like garbage? all pixelated and stuff? is it cause of the resolution? O_O fyi im on 100% stock un-rooted. compaired to my old optimus the phone has all the power and usability i need lmfao

to be honest i stopped updating the list as many of them have been updated in to working order...I will try to make some time and test games and update the list as best as I can

Ya, most games aren't made for the resolution 960x540 (though games with HD 800x480 graphics stilll look good because of the physical size of the screen). Fruit Ninja is an example of a game that has never had great graphics. It looks ok on screens with 800x480 resolution, but the graphics don't even take full advantage of that screen resolution (not sure what resolution they used when making the graphics but it seems like simple 600x480 VGA or something). The only version of the game with decent graphics on Android is the THD version made for the Tegra powered devices like the Motorola Atrix or the Photon.

Heh, I guess that was it. I usually take it upon myself to kill all every now and then, but I guess I forgot. Runs smoother now. Thanks!
I got Asphalt 6 as well, very fun! It's a shame we can't use tilt though.

Does anyone know if there are any new 3D games suited for the EVO 3D in the works?

Check out "Desert Winds" *drool*. unfortunately i can't post a link. Does anyone know if it'll be in 3D?

I doubt it (and I hope not). It looks pretty cool. SHADOWGUN looks better though, IMO.

Yeah, desert winds will be 3D, but with an option to turn it off. Specifically for the Adreno 220. Link.
Shadowgun does look absolutely amazing, but I believe it will be Tegra exclusive :(.
There's not a lot about desert winds.

Saw the video in the link for Desert Winds. Looking forward to it once it comes out. Shadowgun looks good, but I'm really not into gun-toting, militaristic games. Fantasy/Adventure/Sci-fi, and driving games is where my attention is.

The only thing mentioning stereoscopic 3D effects in that article you linked is in this paragraph:

"Qualcomm will continue to use the Desert Winds game to showcase the ever-evolving, advanced capabilities of the Adreno GPU, with more 3D effects, smoother stereoscopic HD gaming, market-leading performance, and industry leading power-efficient 3D graphics. Based on our research1, the Adreno 220 GPU in Qualcomm’s dual-core Snapdragon MSM8660 offers twice the performance of the GPU in other leading dual-core ARM9-based chips."

I still doubt Desert Winds will use the stereoscopic 3D effect. If it is, the graphics for the 3D version will not be as good as say the same game used on the Sensation. Gameloft has been releasing 3D games left and right but only for the LG Optimus. They seem to be having alot of problems getting higher than 10-15 fps on the E3D.

Also, talking with one of the developers of MADFINGER Games back when they first released Samurai II: Vengeance I was told that SHADOWGUN would be released for other Android devices, but they will do a similar Tegra exclusive like they did with SII:Vengeance. As a side note, their site says SHADOWGUN will be released September 28th for iOS.

I'm not sure when it was updated, but EA released Need for Speed Shift: S3D (Stereoscopic 3D I'm assuming).

This only seems to be available through their online store (go to www.eamobile.com with your phones browser). I'm still debating whether or not to give it a try since I already have the original version through the Android Market.

I'm sure you've probably tried a bunch of the other games out, but another I like is Reckless Racing; the PLAY version looks really good on the EVO 3D. It's lame they had to make a seperate version though...

Polarbit's game, Reckless Getaway, looks interesting too.

perhaps this is off base. what about madden 12? i was shocked to see this ported over to the android world.

I love it. I'm excited to finally have a football game on my phone again. The only complaint I really is running the ball. The run game is non existant. The most yards I have been able to get from a run is -1. The opposing AI team usually ends up with -50 by the time the game is over. I hope EA starts releasing some of the other titles they have on the Xperia PLAY now (such Dead Space and Battlefield: Bad Company 2).

Another game I wish was available to us is Sprinkle. Not necessarily in 3D, but Tegra-free.

Has anyone had a problem with the the E3D not responding on games with touch points?

Here is what I am experiencing.

All emulators I've tried, and nearly all touch-heavy games have had problems. During game-play, the touch points become unresponsive for a few moments and then start working again; or not at all. Multi-Touch points.. like when you are running on Meganoid and jump, instead of still running when he hits the ground like he is supposed to, he just stops. And I have to repress the directional points to get him going again. This is a very big problem with Emulators as well. Though I did not experience this when I was using the EVO 4G.

Has anyone had this happen? And if so, if there a solution?

Only thing I've experienced somewhat similar to this is with Madden 12 while trying to pass the ball tapping the squares for the players. Everything else runs fine though. =/ I don't ever use emulators so I wouldn't know much about that.
