tethering and battery life

Two questions. Why is it that whenever I'm tethering my 3g is always faster on my laptop? Guessing something to do with my laptop having a much larger cache size? Also has a larger battery been found yet? I get great battery life. I just want more. Gracias

several reasons, one of which is the larger cache size but even more the cpu is not dependent to render the information, and what it does need to do it does faster, I bet your laptop is more then 1ghz cpu right.:D

I get pretty good response with WIFI tether, but I would run it on the charger. Not sure if that causes an overheating problem. Something to watch. Have not done this for long periods, just playing around.

I have noticed that I get great response with a USB tether program like PDAnet. And it does do a slow charge of the phone at the same time or at least keep it at about the same level. I have done this for long periods at a time, but not very often.

Tethering drinks the juice and heats up the phone, no doubt about it.

I've noticed the same thing when using wireless tether for my laptop . As for the extended life battery , I found a few when I Googled it . Don't know how good they are though . :D
