Lurker
I'd like to tether my iPad2 (iOS 5.0.1) to my Verizon Droid 3 (v2.3.4).

I've tried the following without success
* Bluetooth connection - pairs, but no internet access
* Wifi Tethering via Barnacle - seems to connect but no data transfers (have tried the "Skip wpa-supplicant option without luck and tried with and without WEP encryption. I've also looked at the Barnacle developer's site without luck)
* Wifi Tethering via OpenGarde Wifi Tethering - seems to connect, but not internet

I've looked through the posts here without anything helping.

Any suggestions about how to get the tethering to work would be welcome, particularly detailed instructions.

The only way this is possible is to do the TBH Wireless Tether Hack, which CAN destroy your phone if you aren't careful.

Many users have done it, so it does work. Just before to read and re-read the instructions before even plugging your phone in to start it.

Yep. This hack worked perfectly for me. As imnotmikal says, be sure you understand the instructions and follow them carefully.

I, too, will say do the radio hack. Just be careful to go slow and read everything. Actually, read it all through first, then go try it. The following will make sense once you read it, but once you read each of the 8040-8043 128 character strings, copy and paste them into a text file and label them as stock 804# this way if you botch it, you can pull the botched string and flash it back over the radio. Although, the only string that you absolutely NEED is the 8040 since that's the crucial one to beat the system.
