tethering or use 3G?

Wonder how this would work with the Buy Back program with Best Buy? If BB carries the Wifi version only will I be able to take it back and get that version?

Anyone???

WiFi only is the way I'm going. My Costco AMEX card has a hole burning in it. I will be there at 10:00 a.m. to pick it up the day it's released:)

Ditto. With a Thunderbolt always on my person (hopefully soon), why would I need a tablet with anything else?

I thought the same thing, but in this world why would I want to be forced to connect it to something else to use it?

I want to be able to sit down for lunch, pull out my tablet, jump on the internet if there isn't a wifi around and do everything I need to possibly do then leave when I am done.

Overall I think it will be a great device and I want the added functionality and ability to use internet no matter where I am regardless of what phone I have.

Same here. I have a rooted EVO with wireless tether and get pretty good 4G in my area so tethering is not big deal for me. WiFi only all the way.

With all the outlets selling Xooms this thing is going to do really well.

I agree. Carrier version will sell poorly, but wifi-only will sell huge. By the time the wifi-only versions release, the Xoom SHOULD have the microsd fixed and Flash (at least a beta version).

Sweet spot for mega sales will be $550 or less. Get the total out of pocket cost (tax) under $600 will be huge. Question is will it still have 32gb, or be dropped to 16gb?

Eh, I want the data plan, I don't know about you guys but the ability to access the internet ANYWHERE, regardless of wifi is very attractive to me.

If you have an Android phone with mobile hotspot, you already have internet ANYWHERE. Are you telling me you are going to have your tablet with you, but not your phone?

If he isn't, I will. I'm actually going to get rid of my phone data plan. Don't use it near as much as I'm being charged.

there are times when i need to have my phone doing something that wont allow it to be used as an access point. i want to have all bases covered. a data plan fo rthe tablet is a must for me.

dude root your phone and you'll realize what your phone TRUELY should be and youll have wireless tether that works flawlessly and you wont have another dataplan
