As far as I know, the only was VZW can track if you are tethering or not is when you use their VZ Access Manager. All devices like blackberry, mifi, and pc cards use this. With Pdanet, you are not using this program. I would use this with some caution, most pda users use less than 2gb per month, so if you are well above that every month you may pop up on someone's radar at VZW.
Will pdanet work for tethering an iPod Touch?
Sorry thought it worked more like a mifi.
It does, at least a tethered mifi. But the mifi still connects to the high speed digital network on it's own, something an iPod Touch can't do.
He uses it on his Eris a lot, way more than i do on my droid, and he hasn't had any problems. As far as I know, the only was VZW can track if you are tethering or not is when you use their VZ Access Manager. so wait a sec, are we talking about limit on using your Eris as a tethered modem? or limit on your data coverage? got me confused now as people are talking about the bit torrent client app and also tethering....there is a 5gb limit on tethered but no limit what so ever on actual usage ie u could download 100GB's of data through the actual phone using torrents and such and will incur no extra charges.
the pay version goes to all sites as far as I know.
I have it and surf everywhere
