Help Text messaging problems

Is my Esteem the only one having text issues? Sometimes I won't receive texts for a whole day, and all of a sudden I'll get around 15 texts from many different people at once (meaning they didnt arrive on time).

Also, my phone won't get some texts all together. I use to think it was mainly an iphone thing, but texts from my friends across providers and phones don't come through.

I thought it was just a metro thing but that sort of thing never happened with my Optimus M or the older dumb phones I had. I thought about ditching my Esteem and getting the Connect 4G (both to get rid of the sms issues and for the dual core processor). What do you guys think?
 
its your carrier.
i had problems like that with metro on other phones.
i also had them sometimes with att and verizon.
 
Honestly just found out that of the 18 texts i sent out today, they were all recieved and responded too, but i never got one of those responses... I blame the Rom that i'm running. It's a debloated Stock rom that is completely ICS themed out. I love the ICS look, which is why i don't want to go back to my old GSE 2 rom, so i hope this problem is only temporary. Anyone else experiencing this problem please, let your presence be known. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE!
 
I would try changing your prl to a lower one and see if that helps any. Check the sticky on how to change prl's.
