Help Text messaging small problem

Morning guys, yesterday my DHD did its customary random reboot, now when i recieve a text message it shows up at the top of the screen, but also used to show up on my messages icon on my homescreen telling me how many i had, but als no more. Any ideas?

Ah - this is where I don't think I can help you! I know it's maybe an obvious one, but have you tried rebooting your phone?

lol - not to worry... if it sorts it, then great... if not... try SMS Unread Count from the market (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.kanokgems.smswidget&feature=search_result) by all accounts, it should give you an indication of how many unreads you have in SMS and Gmail... know it's not fixing your problem, but it could be a workaround!!

EDIT - when (in my last post) I said I don't think I can help you, I meant because I don't use the stock stuff any more!!

Nice one... seems that restarting/clearing the cache and then restarting generally tends to get things working again!
