Help Texting Issue - Not Seeing Text As I Type

Have a problem with my Incredible that started at some point yesterday and not sure what happened.
I can compose a text message just fine if I hold the phone upright. I can type text and see it display as I type....which is good.
However, if I hold the phone sideways for the wider keyboard, when I type I dont see the text show up in the text area. To see the text I typed I have to turn the phone upright again then it shows up. This is very frustrating as I like using the wider keyboard. Any thoughts as to what could have changed on my phone to cause this?

And one other thing... This issue only applies to text messaging. If I enter a contact or type in a serach on the web using the sideways keyboard, I can see text show up as I type just fine.
 
I have had this happen randomly also although not since I switched to Gingerbread roms. Exactly as you described although mine didn't do it all the time, it would always work in portrait but only sometimes fail to be visible in landscape. Never found a fix for it.
 
If you clear data then force stop the keyboard (HTC_Ime) in Settings > Applications > Manage apps it may clear the problem.
 
Ok, did a Force Stop on 'HTC IME Test' then went back into the app and can see my typing in landscape. Not sure why mine is saying Test but it worked.

What ROM are you using? This may be a custom keyboard.
