Root Texting with Gingerbread

Is anyone else having trouble sending long text messages(more than 160 characters) using gingerbread? every ROM i've tried has had the same issue.

have you tried using a messaging app other than the stock one such an Handcent?

I did run across a thread in the cm forums saying the asop messaging isn't designed for this. an urge to dance has posted the current known fix..use a messaging app that has this feature built in like handcent
