Help TF700T Dead After Jelly Bean Update

Hi all, first time poster here and I am in need of some advice. Two days ago I finally opted to do the Jelly Bean update, I initiated the update and went to sleep while leaving the tablet plugged into an outlet. I unplugged it the next morning and went to work. Later that afternoon, when I went to use it, it would not turn on so I figured the battery had possibly run dead. I have left it charging for ample time now and every time I attempt to turn it on it acts as if it is still dead. I am not sure if this has to do with the update, but it was the last think I did so it seems to correlate.

I appreciate any comments

If you plug in your charger now, do you see a light come on in the port? If so, what color is it (green or amber)?

What happens if you hold the power button down for 15 seconds?

Yes the service light comes on, but it stays orange as if it is charging. Long pressing the power button does not seem to do anything either

Amber light would indicate that it's actively charging. Green means fully charged. I suspect this is more likely a battery/charging malfunction rather than JB update problem.

Make sure you charge via a wall outlet. Check on it every once in a while. If after 6 hours the light is still amber, I would suspect you have a hardware issue with the battery or the charging system.

I am using an outlet as via USB seems to not charge the tablet, and if it does it is not very significant. I will let it charge again and report back in.

If it is a hardware issue what is the next step?

Same story this morning, no boot up.

-Is there anyway the charging cable could be faulty even though I normally leave it plugged into the same outlet (i.e. it doesn't get moved around/stuffed in a bag)?

- I'm not sure if this is of any help, but the last two times the tablet got to the 15% it gave me a low battery message as expected, but then the tablet suddenly shut off instead of allowing me to drain the last 15% battery.

Thank you again for your help

yeah this sounds like a hardware issue more then JB like novoxx has suggested. i hope you have some sort of extended warranty for it, you might need it.

Best Buy told me they have a 14 day return policy on tablets fwiw.
