Just to back up the other posts, this is a really great forum. The people here are awesome and would definately not try to say anything that mean. I've come up with some pretty dumb questions and they've all welcomed me pretty warmly =D Pretty much everyone here is very jokey and sarcastic, but you'll learn pretty quickly how to tell when they're being serious.

With that said, welcome to the forum!! I'm sure I speak for everyone in saying that we look forward to seeing the input you have =D

**EDIT** BTW Scorp that form was funny!! "...they'll get a Molotov cocktail through their bedroom window sooner or later..." ROFL!

Whoa... all jokes aside... is it really giving some problems? Hmm have you tried a hard reset maybe? Did you do any rooting maybe before the update? I am concerned actually now... :(

Can you re-install the update by any chance dudette?

did a hard reset...tmobile walked me through a system reset...and no, I did not know about rooting until I came here..it's a bit better now..but I dont like a lot of the features of the upgrade...I was perfectly happy with my phone the way it was..sigh...
 
Oops sorry about that, I have a friend named Char and I thought you were a guy like him. You know what's even nastier than golden retriever forums? Forums on cats, the last one I joined was an all around cat fight *pun intended*

Sometimes following a major upgrade a factory reset cleans up a lot of the inherent silliness in the OS. There are days, however, when I think it really just puts the OS into it's "happy place"...

With respect to the other thread, these lounge forums tend to be where people let down their guard and speak in a much less formal way. The folks here are mostly friendly and good natured. Sometimes we find a "bad egg" in our midst but the moderation staff here is quick to find them and help them improve their persona or help them to find a forum better suited to their needs.

Sounds like a classic example of 'forum post misinterpretation' to me. I checked out the 'greetings' thread in question and saw nothing but light hearted joking that was intended to make you feel welcome. Looks like right off the bat you missed the hidden message (don't worry, the first time I saw one of those hidden things I didn't know you could click on it either) and that completely threw you off your game.

This sort of thing happens of the internet. Like one of the above posters stated (I'm too damn lazy to scroll up to see who.... sad ain't it), you can't tell emotion from reading a post. So a single word or phrase typed the wrong way can tint a post and make it sound to the reader, completely different than the poster intended it to sound.

I can still remember my absolute horror when I was in another forum a few years back, and the last post at the bottom of this thread had a guy who made some sort of wise crack, and then said, "please don't cuss me out for this"... So I proceeded to chew him out, going on a 3 paragraph rant throwing just about every cuss word I could think of into it at least 5 times each. And then I scrolled down about 15 lines and put a little ;) winky face as a sign that I was being completely sarcastic and just goofing around. The horror I experienced was because I hadn't checked back on that thread for a couple of days, and when I did I discovered that EVERYONE in that thread thought that I was some kind of complete asshole except for one guy. There was soooo much backlash and bitterness being thrown at me, and then this one guy had posted, "hey guys, he has a little ;) winky at the bottom of his post, can't you see he was just kidding"?

Oh man I felt like SUCH a heal. After reading it back I could see that I really had gone completely over the top, but it was just the mood I was in at the time, ya know? Like it was sooo not meant the way it came off. I just got completely carried away with my warped sense of humor, but that's all it ever was, something meant to be funny.

That's the internet for ya. Sometimes things just don't come across the way they are supposed to. I'm sure if you stick around you'll find this is actually one of the friendliest online communities you'll ever stumble into. It's that way because the mods chase off all the bullies and honest to goodness assholes. You'll find those just about anywhere you look on the internet, sadly. But around here, those types get dealt with swiftly.

So anyways.... welcome.
