The 2.1 Speculation Thread

because it wasn't there before, you have few posts under your belt and seem to be quite argumentative for such a new person. btw a HTC Hero, is not the same as a Sprint HTC Hero.
Tatonka is just pointing out the obvious, there is no need for you to be so rude.
with that being your second smart-mouth comeback. Oh yeah.

I still think you are trolling/flaming, cool it.

TS out

I'd "BAN" your ip for filing a false report, lmao...

oh, by the way, that is not a proper noose,
it requires 13 wraps, not a lucky 7.

:p

Damn, you're right. Better?

And I was just stating the more obvious. So now I need to have a large number under my name to be able to voice my opinion? Umm, I think not.

And Ill add the "Sprint" at some point. But since youre the only one that cares, and you know I have a Sprint HTC Hero, I'm off to bed.

only if you've got to have the top of the line everything, no matter the cost.

That, or if Verizon is the only carrier in your area...then it might be.

Or, if you're still grandfathered in from Alltel, Midwest Wireless before that...THEN it's worth the money, but only because our plan was extremely cheap lol (not compared to the sprint employee pricing though)

sadly... even if you were grandfathered in...when you get a new phone and sign that new contract... it's with the new pricing... the CS and ridiculous pricing of Verizon is why I left.. I had unlimited data.. but in order to get a smartphone for me and my wife.. they wanted an extra 29.99 a month for each smartphone.. because to them smartphone data isn't the same as regular data. now, with sprint, I have 4 lines.. unlimited data on all 4 lines... can call or be called from ANY mobile nationwide.. to get something even remotely close from big red would cost me about $130 a month MORE than what I pay through sprint. it was a no brainer for me to jump ship and come over to Sprint...

Just to be super clear I guess the reason I posted this was a) I assumed people would read it, which it seems most have. b) I assumed you'd understand what while it's not for the Sprint Hero...this gives us a pretty good indicator of when we might hope to see it though doesn't it?

OMG!! How dare you post ANOTHER 2.1 update thread with no official word!! Get your flame suit on from all the trolls here who ruined my thread about the same thing yesterday.

IF a sprint hero 2 is coming out in summer then this update would be counter to that sales plan. Early upgrade deal on top for all the hero owners to spend another $300 on the phone day one.

There wont be a "Hero 2". The next HTC phone to hit Sprint is most likely going to be something like the Incredible or the Bravo and its not really a Hero. Although it will be an Android and running 2.1 with Sense I am sure.

On a serious note. One would think if HTC can make the 2.1 version of Sense work on the GSM Hero, hopefully ours wont be too far behind if Sprint works on it as diligently as they say they are...The new goodies for 2.1 Sense should be fun.

Again, I'm quite certain HTC has already done their part in getting Sense working with 2.1 on the Sprint Hero, as they've sent it to Sprint for testing. I believe what we're waiting for is Sprint to finish their tests, and their apps.

That's certainly what it sounds like from the Sprint Community, and they way the Sprint employees on there talk about it.

you guys probably saw on the phandroid homepage but VZW is officially releasing the 2.1 android update this week...

not a complaint, but hopefully this pushes sprint to get ours out quickly... really just want the google nav since fresh with gumbo is sick!

maybe sprint is under promising (1HY2010) and over delivering??

As has been pointed out hundreds of times already, Droid is vanilla Android and far easier to update than a phone running Sense.
