Help The 4 buttons

Do they dim and lose light as the battery runs out? I just want to make sure this isn't a defect or the buttons screwing up on me.

Same here, they have always been the same brightness; but now that you mention it, I'll keep an eye today and post my results later

I can't tell what your pic is supposed to show. But the buttons light up and turn themselves off faster then the screen timeout.

You seem to say that the lower your battery the dimmer the button backlight? So at 50% battery the lights are half as bright (when you wake the phone) as when the phone has a 100% charge?

For me they are on or off.

Could it be you have your screen on a different brightness level and they just appear dimmer? There is no control to even adjust this. In your picture they look normal to me.

They're not as bright as they were when I first bought the phone. At least I don't rhino they are.
Swype'd.

To be honest, I haven't noticed any difference in the brightness of my buttons over time. Your photo looks pretty much like what I see on a daily basis with my phone.

Lmao yeah I find swype easier on some occasions. But uh hmm maybe its just me?? I could have sworn They used to be brighter.

I was hoping there'd be an app to adjust how long those buttons stay on. Anyone know of such an app?

Me too! I would like to keep them on for a little longer, they stay on for like...2.5-3 seconds. I might want 5 seconds or as long as my screen stays on...cuz at night its hard to hit those keys since they are physical

Well I have keps an eye on mine since my last post and I cannot tell any difference with a 5% or 100% charge on the phone

The buttons have a "carbon fiber" background and the lights are dimmer than the screen light. They are meant to be dimmer than the screen. Your pic looks totally normal.

When I got my replacement captivate, the buttons were overall brighter and a bit whiter than my original captivate so there was a definite hardware change since the first shipment of captivates.

Also, I'm willing to bet that either in the gps fix update or froyo update, they will add an option to change the time out on the four lights like the option that is already available on the epic.
