Root The best ROM?

Hi guys, I know that it may be a weird question to ask because it may offend some people, but please take this light heartedly. I've been using galaxy prevail for a while with CTMod...

I have a transform ultra to mess around with now so my question is, which mod for the transform ultra would be equivalent to CTMod? So like one that removes all the junk but keeps swype, has no carrier IQ, and uses bob's oc kernel that I read so much about which solves the screen issue everyone has been having. I'm into simplicity and speed when it comes to phones if ya know what i mean :p

any rom with without ciq is based on 2.3.6 which will also fix the touchscreen issue. There are a couple being worked on and one released that is skinned through apps on these forums..

Chevanlol and Mavrickmeercat are working on 6.0 of their rom and in my opinion they offer the most out of the box tricks, though davegrows and smith's rom may have those tricks now too. None of these roms are currently released with a 2.3.6 base.

I run lootarom :D which is to say a customized stock rom with tricks added. Mostly because I dislike deodexed roms as they seem to slow down my phone.

I suggest you play around and see what you like.

You can always uninstall or freeze bloatware.
 
I just find it so difficult to make my own themes and modifications. I have tried many times with no success. Without the hard work of all the devs I would not be able to enjoy all the roms and themes available here for all of us.

Thanks so much for your reply. I was reading through the forums for a while before I posted this thread but I just felt it would be great to get an opinion that would help save some time when it comes to installing and uninstalling roms until I find the right one, lol. I was also leaning more towards The $hEvRoN ROM myself :D and OP for the rom is super organized, big plus!

But just to clarify, did you mean that The $hEvRoN ROM is based on 2.3.6 in that paragraph? (I'm guessing it is because of bob's kernel?) Or maybe chevanlol360 can answer that lol :p. Thanks again guys!

No its not based on 2.3.6 yet, it will on version 6.0
 
I don't believe there is a "best rom" its mostly whats suited for you. I just stick to the stock until cm7 I'd done
 
Like the rest have said you can't really define a best rom because everyones tastes are different. However if you're looking for what we like about the roms were all using we can answer that.

Personally I like prime rom. It uses adw launcher which is a plus for me because I'm not big into go launcher so shevron wasn't exactly for me. Also I like the setup davegrow put on here, plus you can still remove the bloatware you don't want/use. Runs really smooth, even when I'm torrenting.

But couldn't you just install adw? I thought it was on the market...err playstore?

Could but I've seen a couple of people have problems swapping launchers, also prime has spare parts and a couple other tweaks I like. And a killer boot animation. Also its the closest I've found to cm. Coming from the triumph that's all I used on that thing.

Oh OK. I like Go Launcher. It has a good ICS theme and folders.
 
I'm a big fan on bobz kernel also katrancho I'm positive I spelled that wrong...but my phone works great overclocked 1.3. xperia launcher ..

I have to agree with Silkno420 on this one. I love the Shevron ROM and it was my first rom, but I don't really like GO Launcher, so I personally prefer Prime. Having said that, when Chevanlol360 releases the 6.0 version, I will be running that.

I just found the Ultra Rom by Katracho and I'm trying to install it but keep getting an MD5 mismatch, any ideas anyone?

P.S.
One other detractor for the Prime rom is that for some reason, I cant use the android booster widgetr on the homescreen...epic fail on that one.
