I'm not saying dont get the Bolt I will but Best Buy doesn't do 1yr contracts and Verizon's new policy will lock you in for a full 20 months no other option exists thru them. I'm personally waiting until Verizon stores get them and pay an extra 70 up front and get an upgrade after 10 months vs the 20 month contract. Getting a phone a week or even month early isn't appealing to me if I have to wait an extra 20 months to see a new one. This phone is popular right now but where will it be mid 2012 (a year and a half from now) when you still have another 6 months to go before seeing another phone?

yeah i`m buying my off contract and I will still have my upgrade available when the INC, 2 comes out :D
 
i will get mine from vzw on a one year deal. i bought my x off contract saving my upgrade for this device. i will however keep my x for a while before i place it for sale, just in case ;)

yeah I forgot that wasn`t going to be 4g, oh well, I will use the TB until the next sweet thing comes out :), be nice if the INC 2 would come out before I go to Germany, I did hear I Think it was suppose to be a Gobal phone:confused:
 
im paying full retail for this device. And plan on using my upgrade next year when we see the future of smart phones. 4g Dual Core Android Devices on Dual Core Optimized Android Operating Systems.
 
So just noticed the vzw.com/thunderbolt page that used to have all the info on the device and say "coming soon" is currently down... so I would say its getting the official update.
 
just had the pleasure of preordering my TB at best buy, the employee who cashed me out told me I could get it the 14th.. not the 28th as rumored before. However we'll have to wait till next Monday to see if she was telling the truth or not.. either way I'm stoked
 
Just read over at droidforums.net that they have a slide showing a VZW memo that states the Thunderbolt won't be be released until the 28th due to the stores trying to fill all the iphone orders. They say they will have the slide posted on their page Monday to back up this statement.

Perhaps best Buy is getting the TB first, not because BB has an exclusive deal, but because it allows Verizon stores to deal with the iphone. MY co worker is 100% certain we'll have the TB on the 14th. Which is why im not pre ordering. He'll have one for me saved in case theres a rush. Although i seriously doubt anyone knows about this phone lol

Man I hope that isn't true. I didn't care until now about a ton of people rushing to get a completely outdated phone. But if that rush means I have to wait two more weeks to get the most powerful phone currently available, that will piss me off....
 
For what it's worth, I just contacted the manager where I pre-ordered two TB's. He also assured me that I would have both my phones the morning of the 14th. He stated that Verizon themselves may not release it till the 28th due to the Iphone sales but that would have zero effect of Best Buys pre-orders. I guess we shall see Monday....
 
If you pre ordered today at BB, you WILL have your phone next week. Trust me. I just checked with mobile again. THey said it is a done deal.

I pre-ordered my mine but they didn`t happen to have a no contract price.

I hear ya, Verizon really F*#&ED this up!!! This phone has been in the pipeline from about 6 months and they are still jackin around with launch dates. This stupid qphone BETTER NOT screw up the launch of the Thunderbolt!!!!!! How long has sprint had the EVO out for and verizon still can launch a comparable phone yet......WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
