Your Poetic hard case is very similar to my cheap $13 case, except for the magnet. Of course I WILL get a magnet in mine to do the same thing. :D

My HP Touchpad case (same design) is Poetic too.

You posted another case that looked pretty cool and this case looks great too. Thin, light, and classy looking. (Yes, tight leather will stretch and become perfect with a little wear.)

I'll post pics of the rooCASE I ordered when it arrives, but I already know it's more bulky than this one.

I see I have found a cadre of similar minded accessory nuts in this forum.

I wasn't implying there are different ones that you should post, just that I wish there were some more sleek options. I've already expressed my desire for something that doesn't protect the back at all - I want a bracket that snaps around the edge of the tablet, with a "smart cover-esque" flap that goes over the front. That's all. Thin, sleek, protects the glass and makes it easier to carry.

Barring that, I'd accept a very thin, hard back cover. Not looking for drop protection here, just scuff resistance.
 
I've ordered a waterproof case, I'll let you know what I think of it when it comes, I'm quite looking forward to reading/watching TV in the bath! Also it'll be useful on holiday, I wouldn't take it to the beach otherwise.
I'm now just looking for a neoprene type pouch with a magnet in to transport the thing.

Thanks for this link - its the only hard case I can seem to find for the nexus 7, so I may end up buying as well

I am looking for something in the realm of an otterbox or ballistic type case for this...if anyone sees one please post it. I have an 8 year old that will want to get his mitts on this, and sometimes he has butterfingers!

I contacted otterbox regarding if they were coming out with a nexus 7 case, and sadly this was their reply:

I completely agree!!!

This is such an elegantly thin device, why make it so thick to carry around?

I am looking for a thin as possible case to just protect from scratches, not from fall (let's face it, it is a false sense of security anyways).

I would like to see one that matches the tapered contour of the edges and wraps around it like a glove. I have one for the ipad 2 and love it.

Or maybe a silicone sleeve that also has a face cover.

The one i posted above should be close to what you want. TPU cases are a usually a little thicker than a silicone case but its more of a rigid design. Will add minimal bulk.

I normally just do a TPU case with a screen protector and call it good on my electronics.

Thanks but I do prefer something over the creen in addition to the screen prottector.

Plus, a stand to watch movies is a must.
