I'm not looking for a hand strap (but would if I have to). Just one where the front cover flip open and goes all the way yo the back so I can hold it flat. Maybe these do that but not showing it in the images?

Sounds to me like you want one very similar to the stock Asus ones that will be soon be sold on the Play Store. I know the quality of those ones suck but haven't seen a similar style cover anywhere. You might be better off just getting a sleeve for it, but when actually using it just use it naked.

They don't work in firefox. If you hover over the link and see what it says in the status bar, it has redirects in it that aren't in the original link.

Looks to me like it snaps together, enclosing your N7.

Your thumbnail is the back and appears to leave the soft stock back exposed. (See how it comes up just past the speaker?)

The screen cover might be hinged at the top. You have to look at the top and bottom pics.

Pretty cool case. I suspect it won't dent if your N7 is in it and you drop it. Not sure what material it's made of (stainless steel? aluminum).

Not a bad price, but I prefer a case with the wake feature. I find myself closing the cover and re-opening it to wake it, rather than using the switch. :D

Yes, it's for the Kindle Fire, but I basically wanted a very thin, lightweight, no-BS sleeve to throw the Nexus into when it was going to go into my bag, otherwise I wanted to use the Nexus bare. It's thin, simple, and does the job nicely. Edit: The inside is a nylon fabric that isn't abrasive, but it's not microfiber or something soft on the inside.

Thanks for posting this; I also picked it up at Best Buy. I'd prefer more padding on the two edges with the zipper, and I'm surprised it's not microfiber inside, but overall I like it: it's minimalist, fits the Nexus 7 well (snug top-to-bottom and only 1/4" play side-to-side), and the faux leather hand-strap is useful.

FYI for anyone not in a hurry, Amazon has other colors available (I like the charcoal better, but had a Best Buy gift card to burn).

It has some storage pockets. One thing I didn't think about, if you have something in those, when you close the cover those items will be sitting on the screen. The black flap you see has velcro to hold the N7 in the case after you fold it under the N7.

I don't really like the way it sits and the way it folds. It is not as stable as it could be. It should have just 3 folds, not 4.

Since I don't have my Nexus yet, I don't know how it fits. It will be ok for now, but I'll probably order a good 'smart' case when they start coming out. (At least until Apple sues)

I'm in UK and there are a lot of case choices in US rather than UK. Maybe its best I wait another 2 weeks before ordering my case?

Also, all the links posted that links to amazon.com comes as 404 error. I have no idea why. I had to copy the keyword into google and search it that way

Is there a minimalist case so that I could feel the back and only cover the front and sides?
 
Both of these should be showing up on Friday. I'll report back here. I only need something to protect it when I chuck it into my backpack or pocket. Most everything else turns it into something far too cumbersome for my taste.

Guess I don't know how to post links...disregard.

There's a bunch of them out there. Basically just relies on a magnet in the case to cause it to sleep/wake.
I'm still waiting on the one in the Play Store to be available.

Dread, someone here got the one from the play store and pretty much said it sucked. No magnet functionality at all. I got a generic reader/kindle sleave for Evans. I'm running mine naked at the moment until something catches my fancy.

I'm trying to avoid buying a case, because I love the feel of the rubber/leather hybrid on the back. But I'd like a stand, and this case seems to be the best compromise of bulk and functionality (stand and strap).

Too bad it's not due out until August 2nd and I'm impatient. All of the reviews for the other cases from this manufacturer seem good.

Anyone who buys this, please share your thoughts when it arrives.

I agree with you in that I prefer my devices without cases but I got the non-wake version of this case and the stand makes it worth it for me. It's just too convenient. I also pre-ordered the wakable version because that would make this case just about perfect.

I'm not a fan of cases covering any part of the screen but I have to admit that case looks pretty freaking cool! I'm digging the carbon fiber!
