So I've been working on this for about 2 hours and no luck. I downloaded the program, completed the steps successfully, and it's still not working. I dialed that number to get to the menu and changed the phone options, it now says AT&T, but I can't make calls or text. I'm not sure what else to do to get this to work. Any suggestions?

Hey guys, I see a lot of information here on changing the device to.CDMA only to disable our 4g to use with straight talk.
Now from what Ive seen everyone is trying to work with at&t sprint service, but I already bought a new device from straight talk and it runs off the verizon network.
Now I know I can get my bionic activated through straight talk I want to return this $250 phone I bought.
My phone is already rooted with safestrap and version .276
Now when I rooted my phone I found an app though an availible ROM that's on my phone called "LTE OFF" where I can quickly change to CDMA only, no other instillations required. Here's a screen shot of the app prior to opening it.View attachment 52486
My question. Do all I need now is a blank verizon SIM card and to switch my phone to 3G only and activate?
Lars,
Got a question for you. I haven't gotten around to unlocking my phone yet and I'm currently running OTA ICS Version 6.7.246.XT875.verizon.en.us. I'm being told an update is available and the version numer is 98.72.22.en.us. Android version number is currently 4.0.4.
Will installing this update change how I would unlock the phone or my ability to do so? I don't want to shoot myself in the foot for making this phone work in Chile. Know anyone who has had luck getting this phone to work on the Entel network?
And just to confirm, once I get back to the states I can plug in the old sim card and everything should still work after a bit right?
One more question, any link to find the Radiocomm program? And which version should I be looking for? I did find a download link for version 11.11.11. Will it work on win7? i'm not sure if I can find an xp comp around...
Thanks for the help.
Hey Lars, I know this is an old thread but can I still ask for your help? I followed each step from your post and it's till giving me the red "thing" when I click READ! Am I doing something wrong? A friend gave me his Droid Bionic XT875 from VZW and it doesn't have a working sim card, that's why I wanted it unlocked so I can put my at&t sim on it! Any help?
what is the correct way to edit build.propTo get data (and maybe text) you will need to program the apn information from Entel into the phone now that you have voice. You will have to get apn info from them. Selecting an apn is not needed. The phone does that automatically based on matching sim info to the apn, assuming you put it in the correct info if it was not already in there via Moto.
I have never bothered hacking the signal bar to read accurately as others have. I call or I don't regardless of what it says. You must be rooted to edit the build.prop. If you do it incorrectly you WILL boot loop your phone and have to flash it completely. The signal is the same. Only the indicator varies. The diversity antenna is not as good a dedicated GSM phone.
I regularly see HSPA and it is faster than my appetite to chew through data on my roaming sims.

Time to find a full SBF...Ok, now my phone is a ******* mess...
First time ive tried to unlock it i used safestrap 3.5 to create a ROM slot and flashed CM 10 (the exact same ROM i flashed on that other Bionic thats been working fine) then boot into CM and i couldn't use radiocomm to unlock the radio so i posted here...
Now, since yesterday what ive done is:
deleted ROM slot1, tried to SBF latest JB from here
Droid-Developers SBF
but it fails everytime, so i had to use the one posted here instead
androidforums.com/bionic-all-things-root/480176-how-flash-5-9-905-gb-6-7-246-ics-98-72-22-jb-rsdlite.html
(98.72.22 FXZ JB (Full Version))
Now im back on stock with no ROm slots and no safestrap installed, downloaded latest ROM Manager from the Playstore, and it says i have TWRP and CWM already installed, so i chose to update CWM Recovery and select it as default recovery, but everytime i try to reboot into CWM recovery it sends a "superuser has stopped working" and it just reboots normally.
After that, i just installed safestrap again, created ROM slot1, installed and boot into CM10, installed ROM Manager and again it detects both TWRP and CWM already installed, i chose flash CWM rcovery and select it as default, then reboot to recovery, and now Superuser doesn't crash but it reboots straight into TWRP recovery.
So... is there a manual way to flash that GSM patch? through fastboot maybe? or how can i go back to a complete stock system so i can start completely fresh without a trace of root or recovery? i guess the problem is that CWM can't start because i have TWRP already installed, how can i delete every trace of it to see if i can boot into CWM just one time and flash that GSM patch... it's all i need.
hello Lars,
I am using a Motorola droid bionc xt875 and trying to use it in the Mideast on Du network. I went through the thread and got as far as the radiocomm was able to comp the 1877 write and power cycle then I entered *#*#info#*#* and changed it to the CDMA/LTE/GSM/WCDMA but phone is still not working as voice/data/or text any thoughts? any help would be appreciated
