The first charge

I'm about to go pick up my DNA (Yea!) Is anyone doing anything special with their first charge? I heard with lithium batteries you should let them charge for 7-8 hours on the first charge. I have a plane to catch in four hours and won't be able to do that.

I haven't ever done that. But my battery was charged to about 70% when I got it. If I am not mistaken, the full charge and discharge is more for battery monitor calibration than anything else, I don't think the lithium batteries require a full charge like that.

I got mine with like 30% or so, i just ran it down to like 20 or so and then charged it. On a unrelated note, I love how long the charge cord is for this thing.

Ok, mine had 60% charge on it out of the box. So I charged it to 97% but then had to catch a plane. I played with it a LOT on the 5 hour plane ride, and in the taxi to the hotel, and basically all the time. I added lots of apps, took some pics including about 6 panaromas (cool!), personlized the screens and handcent sms and youmail. I finally killed the battery about 10 minutes ago, it had been about 12 hours since I took it off the charger. So yes, this phone can be taken down in a day but I imagine after a few days of getting everything just the way I like it, and ogling the screen for minutes at a time just to ogle it, I'll eventually make it to bedtime without having to charge it.
