The Gorilla Glass debate ends here.

The Droid X does NOT have the screen material known as "Gorilla Glass".

Gorilla Glass | Device List

/Gorilla Glass debate.

EDIT:

My words are officially eaten. They taste... like chicken. Not good chicken either, more like the cheap chicken from Taco Bell. ;)

I still find it very odd that neither Motorola, Verizon or the Droid campaign ever mentioned Gorilla Glass for anything beyond the Droid 1.

"Due to customer agreements the following list is only a sampling."

Besides, does it really matter?

And could we assume that if it is listed as in the regular Droid, it would also be in the Droid 2 and the Droid X? Just a thought.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; DROIDX Build/VZW) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1 480X854 motorola DROIDX)

Does it really matter? I've been rollin' with a "Naked" DX in my pocket with NO blemishes to the screen.. Enough said for me...

It does use gorilla glass. The motorola "droid" name in the list encompasses the droid 1, 2, 2 global, pro and X. Just go to the Motorola web site. Those phones are listed as part of the "droid" series. End of debate.

^bingo^
Motorola said they have gorilla glass and that list
Says DROID, which encompasses all of motos droid phone
So sorry OP, you proved yourself wrong

Someone post concrete proof that the Droid X has gorilla glass.... and the Droid 2 for that matter. Anyone. And I will eat my words.

It has been nothing more than speculation from what I've seen. The screen is definitely scratch resistant, but not nearly as scratch proof as the Droid 1.

I am going to have to lean towards chippy with this one...... but really who cares what it is right? It is what it is and whatever it is its great and can't be changed so why sweat it?

It's ok to believe whatever you want to believe. You are the OP. It is up to you to prove your theory. You need to provide the definitive proof that the droid X does not have gorilla glass, not for us to disprove you. So far you have not. But thats ok.

OP, you're ******ed. as if not knowing "droid" encompasses an array of moto android phones available wasn't enough, you decided to express your ignorance to all those who visit these forums. kudos, and move on.

Not only that but the site says its just a sampling. Even if it doesn't have it the op's link sure doesn't help prove that in any way.

I think the op needs some help with reading comprehension.

He failed big time here. Don't post something so confidently that you are so wrong about.

I thought you said the debate was over?

No?

If the debate is over, you shouldn't ever have to post on the subject again and everyone should be agreeing with you.

For future reference, when I make bold claims about posting absolute truths, I usually, you know, read the first sentence of the link I post.

He agrees with me, and I with him. Who really cares if it does or doesn't...........no big deal IMO.

That's because Apple pinheads like "buzz" words when they say how great their iphones are...droid users know what they are getting.

Darnit! I was hoping to report a fight! ;)

Steven runs from the mods before they can take away his title. :)

I dropped mine face down on the concrete onto some gravel and it didn't get a single scratch or crack. I'm convinced it's some tough stuff, whatever it is.
