Accessories The Kickstand Case - What do you think?

I purchased my Droid X with the leather kickstand case, and I gotta say that I really don't like it. I'll definitely be exchanging it for a different one.

It looks really big on the phone, but the bigger problem is that the kickstand is nearly impossible to snap off! I ended up having to use a flat-head screwdriver just to get the thing to pop out! I was almost ripping the case off the phone trying to get the thing to snap out of place.

In short: If you're thinking of getting the stand case, make sure to either try it out or have the ability to return it (verizon said they give 30 days) because it seems very flawed, IMHO. Anyone else have a similar/different experience?

As far as the phone: Fantastic!!

Any chance for some pictures? I was interested in getting the case with kickstand but after your mini-review, I'm having second thoughts.

Whereas I don't have my phone, as yet, having ordered it last yet, I DID receive my leather case with kickstand. I like it. a LOT!!!!! I mean a LOT!!!!

I like the feel, I like the kickstand. It will protect my phone and it looks elegant! It has a kickstand too! I see myself using that daily at my desk. :) :)

i would love to see some pictures too! I'm thinking of buying this exact case because it seems it would absorb a lot of shock from impact

I just bought it from the Verizon Store. I have to agree on the issue about getting the kickstand to actually come out of the case. I have to pull down (towards the edge of the phone) to be able to get it off. Thats not a completely horrible thing though, because it leaves me certain it won't come up when unwanted.

Couple more pics in case you want (I noticed no one else had one of the front, not even Verizon Wireless).

Just tried taking it off...

I have no idea how to do it easily. Had to use a small screwdriver to gently pry it apart.

Again, like the kick stand, I don't really consider it a bad thing. It means the case won't be coming off easily.

If you're going to be using a dock I'd suggest a different case though.

seriously man. Get some pledge, endust, or something. :D

OK well I ordered this yesterday...came in this morning with phone That is the only good thing almost

My thoughts

1. feels like cheap plastic not leather
2. kick stand nice, hard to open a plus, no accidental opening
3. goes on phone easy enough. even with phone plugged in.
4. Because phone was plugged in and probably would be most times I would want kick stand down, I realized kickstand wont work
while phone is plugged in. usb and kickstand on same side...you would have thought design would have placed the stand on both sides or
at least swiveled this one.
5. because of 1 and 4 it is already back in box with return label on it..sorry vzw but this case is bunk...

Are you serious!? Wow, as minor of a design flaw as that maybe, that definitely turned me off. I planned on using this primarily to watch films, and would prefer to have the phone plugged in while doing so.

I am serious... I have been playing with a friends Ipad and forgot the droid only does portrait and landscape in two directions instead of fully rotating... so even the swivel or both side stand ideal wouldn't work..kick stand would have been nice but oh well not needed for a good time LOL

I bought this case yesterday with my Droid X and it didn't fit at all. :(

The top of the case wouldn't fully clip on and when it finally did, one end of the case would pop right up. Glad to see mine might have just been defective since I really loved the feel of the case. I'm honestly happy the kickstand takes some effort to use since you'll never have to worry about it coming lose down the road.

I have the snap on leather kickstand case. I absolutely love the feel of it. It looks elegant and feels grippy. I made the right decision, for myself.

When 2.2 gets here you can rotate it either direction landscape wise.

As for the USB port and kickstand being on the same side I'd say it was desiged that way because we don't have 2.2 yet. Imagine if they put the USB port on the other side? Before 2.2 arrived the media docks would be useless because the screen would be upside down! Same for if they placed the kickstand so it opened opposite of the USB port.
